Hi.
You're asking at just the right time! The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends that girls have their first visit to a gynecologist between the ages of 13 and 15. Keep in mind, though, your first visit to the gynecologist does not have to involve a physical exam, unless you are sexually active or experiencing symptoms of some kind.
There are actually some advantages to making your first gynecologist visit a clothed one. This kind of visit allows you and your prospective doctor to simply talk and get to know each other. You can also ask any questions you may have about your body, menstruation, sexuality and contraception, and learn about the hygienic and sexual practices that will help keep you healthy.
A clothed visit is also a good way to gauge your comfort level with a doctor. Think of it as testing the waters. You'll probably be nervous during your first gynecological exam, but having the right doctor to guide you through the exam will really make a difference.
By the way, most gynecologists respect the confidentiality of their patients and only share information with parents if the patient consents, but if you are nervous that the questions you ask or the things you reveal about yourself will get back to your parents, simply ask about the doctor's privacy policy during your visit.

Take care.
