I guess you need to also be very careful about making the decision to have sex and know that if you are going to have sex you are going to do it because you want to. Also, you have to be honest about your sexual history at least with the people you are going to have sex with. If you can't be completely honest about your sexual history or about safe sex with a person you want to have sex with then it isn't a good idea to have sex with them. I know it can be hard because you may want to impress someone or something but it is very important.
