      copying the zine
1. After the cut-and-paste original zine is completed, you have to take a trip to the copy shop for the most frustrating part of the process (at least for me). However, you can sometimes avoid copying it yourself if you don't mind paying a little extra by giving your zine to a copy attendant to copy for you.

2. If you are copying it yourself, be sure to make a test copy of your original to check the contrast and to be sure that you are placing the zine correctly on the glass. You should experiment until you get it right or ask an attendant for help. Once you figure out the right way to copy, you most likely won't have any more trouble with the machines.

3. Copy your zine! If you want double-sided pages, you may have to ask the attendant for help.

4. Fold or cut the pages and organize them in numerical order. I usually place them in separate stacks for each page so it is a more efficient manner to put them together. When the pages are in order, staple them together through the fold at the top and bottom of the pages. To further flatten the zines (this makes them easier to send), I place them under a heavy book.

5. Celebrate! Your zine is done!! Give it to friends. Trade it with other zinesters. Send it to a zine distribution service (mine is artemis/fire eater). Get it out there!
