My tattoo is a memorial tattoo for my grandmother. She passed away seven days before my 14th birthday. As an 18th birthday present, my mom took me to get this tattoo and she got a matching one in the same place. We both got a daisy because my grandma and I shared the same favorite flower--the daisy.
My grandma lived with us for almost my whole life. Every night before I went to bed, she would say the first verse of a poem to me. It went like this: "I'll give you a daisy a day dear/ I'll give you a daisy a day/ I'll love you until the river runs still/ and the four winds we know blow away."
The daisy on my back represents my grandma. There is one petal falling off the flower to show that the daisy is dying. Even though my grandma passed away just like this flower will, I know my grandma is still with me every day.
