The first thing I would do as president is pull troops out of Iraq. The saying "nothing good comes from war" is true.
Next, I'd make gay marriage legal. Though I am not gay myself, I'd still fight for the rights of others because being gay is not a choice. Condemning gays to lives without marriage is unfair. Canada allows gay marriage, so why can't we?
I would also cancel standardized testing. I know you're probably thinking that I just want to get out of tests, but that's not it. Standardized tests aren't always accurate because the scores could reflect the type of mood the student was in. They don't show students' scholarly abilities.
I'd also change laws about drugs. I think people should go to jail if they are dealing drugs because they are knowingly giving people something that could kill them, but I think that all drug addicts should have a chance in rehab. Just because a person is put in jail, doesn't mean they aren't addicted. Rehab actually helps.
