Part hair in the middle.
Pull hair to one side and secure a low ponytail using an elastic band. Leave strands out for that loose messy look.
Gather the ponytail and form it into a bun. You can use bobby pins to secure the bun in place. Spray with hairspray so it'll be sure to stay in place.
