The key with vegetables and fruit is to choose from the five different color groups each day: green (green peppers, broccoli, lettuce, kiwi), red (red cabbage, radishes, tomatoes, strawberries), blue/purple (purple cabbage, eggplant, blueberries), yellow/orange (carrots, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, peaches) and white/brown (mushrooms, potatoes, pears) because each color is packed with different antioxidants. Fruit and veggies are a great source of fiber, and high in vitamins A, C, and E that keep your hair shiny, skin glowing and body strong.
A good thing about fruits and veggies is that they're the natural version of fast food: You can carry an apple or carrot sticks around with you for whenever you need a boost between classes or before soccer practice.
