Marketing is both a social and managerial function related to selling a product and making sure that customers are satisfied. The main four main activities of marketers start with the letter "P": Product, Pricing, Promotion and Placement, or distribution, of a product to the consumer market.

To work as a marketer...
In this competitive field, internships and professional certifications are very useful in making you stand out. A bachelor's or master's degree with an emphasis on marketing is preferred for management positions in marketing, sales, and promotions management. Successful marketers are often promoted to higher positions, and the cream of the crop become top executives or CEOs.

It is often debated whether marketing is an art or a science. While there is no clear answer, college graduates with a high level of creativity, and strong communications skills in addition to industry experience have the best job opportunities. Computer skills related to marketing and sales on the internet are particularly in-demand today.
