Be a Wealth Creator
<<return to list of topics

Discover YOUR definition of rich.
Each person defines rich differently--what it means and how it is experienced. Create your own definition based on what is important to you and what you want money to do for you.

Being "rich" has absolutely nothing to do with your income.
You can earn a million dollars and not be rich if you spend most or all of it! Wealth is a truer measure of one's status as rich. So...

Be a wealth creator, not just an income generator.
In the financial community, the universal definition of wealth is owning more than you owe, or having more assets (what you own) than liabilities (what you owe).

Examples of assets

  • mutual funds
  • stocks
  • income-producing real estate
  • a profitable business
  • Examples of liabilities

  • credit cards
  • mortgages
  • car loans
  • student loans
  • Think of assets as things that put money in your pocket and liabilities as things that take money out of your pocket. (Owning a pair of the latest Manolo Blahnik shoes is not considered an asset, sigh... )
