myths
Most people know that masturbation won't really make you go blind or give you acne, but there are still a lot of myths about masturbation that need to be cleared up. Below are some of the most common ones.

The Myth:
Masturbation is dirty and perverted.

The Facts:
Masturbation is perfectly healthy and natural. People masturbate throughout their lives. Masturbation is not a sign that you are a pervert or oversexed. It is a normal way to experience sexual pleasure.

The Myth:
Girls don't masturbate.

The Facts:
Though there are no completely reliable numbers, the fact is, plenty of girls masturbate. But, because there are still double standards, regarding sex for guys and girls, fewer girls than guys feel comfortable talking about masturbation or admitting to doing it.

The Myth:
A girl will lose her virginity from masturbating.

The Facts:
Most people agree that guys and girls lose their virginity the first time they have sex with another person. Even if a girl stretches her hymen masturbating, if she hasn't had sex play with someone else, she is still a virgin.

The Myth:
People can tell a girl masturbates by looking at her.

The Facts:
Nope! The only way for someone to know if a girl masturbates is if she tells him or her. Girls who masturbate don't walk differently, get a gap between their thighs or "lose their glow."

The Myth:
People who masturbate won't be able to enjoy sex with a partner.

The Facts:
People who know their own bodies are usually able to enjoy sex and have orgasms more easily with a partner because they can show the other person how to turn them on.

The Myth:
Only lonely, single people masturbate.

The Facts:
Plenty of people masturbate whether they are in relationships or not. In fact, some people report masturbating more often when they are involved with another person than when they are single. Masturbation is a great way to control your own sexuality and has nothing to do with your relationship status.
