Beliefs of the Presbyterian church include "the sovereignty of God, the authority of the Scripture...grace through faith and the priesthood of all believers."
Education is very important to Presbyterians. Scriptures, as well as writings by theologians and faith statements, are continuously studied so that members of the church will better be able to practice their faith. It is also common for faith to be represented by good works and seeking justice, as well as preaching the Gospel.
History:
Presbyterianism is one of the Protestant religions that grew out of the teachings of John Calvin. Presbyterian churches are governed by "elders" or "presbyters," lay members of the church who work with ministers.
