Beliefs:
Deism is the belief in God that exists outside of organized religion. Some believe that God is the world and does not exist separately from it, and others believe in God as the creator of a universe that does have its own laws. This view of God and the world makes reason very important and allows believers to incorporate scientific findings into their belief systems. The individual's pursuit of knowledge is of very high importance and this knowledge can come from a variety of sources.

History:
Deism has existed since ancient times, but it did not evolve into a distinct idea until the Enlightenment and the Scientific Revolution.
