The Internet and social networking websites make it easier for pedophiles to target young children, whether through creating and distributing child pornography, or prowling chat rooms and sites like MySpace and Facebook.
Myspace, a popular social networking site, has new privacy settings which block anybody from viewing the profiles of members under 18 unless they are already friends. It also has technology that keeps track of popular search words used by pedophiles on the site. Each week, 8,000 Myspace members are deleted for lying about their ages.
