Physical surgeries are not the only thing hermaphrodites can undergo if they decide to choose a sex; now people can take endocrine treatments. Most are sex hormone controllers, which can be taken in numerous ways: orally, injections, patches or even gels. Males who take this hormone can experience a suppression of female hormones, enlarged penises, hair distribution and an increase in body mass. Females, on the other hand, can experience breast development and possible menstruation, depending on how developed the female internal organs are.
Hermaphrodites can have sexual relationships. Some hermaphrodites can have children, but most are infertile. Sexual relations depend on the extent of a person's diagnosis. Some are more complicated than others and this can make reconstructive surgeries difficult. Various problems can result from surgery, such as numbness of the genitals or bent penises.
