What is the average homeschooler like? Home schooling families represent all ethnic backgrounds, political views, financial situations and religious beliefs, but there are certain trends among the home schooling population. For example, a 2003 study found that home schooled kids are more likely to be white, live in two-parent households and have parents who attended college.
Home schooled kids are also more likely to have a parent who is not in the work force, which makes sense (some kids have tutors or go to class with other home schoolers, but most are taught by one of their parents).
Currently, Muslim Americans are the fastest growing subgroup within the home schooling population.
