BDD is very similar to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and it can even be hard for doctors to tell the two apart. Both disorders focus on obsessive behaviors or thoughts that get in the way of daily life. People with OCD or BDD are even alike in their personalities, including being sensitive and always wanting to be in control. Treatments traditionally used for OCD have been effective in treating BDD and the rates of success are similar.
