We women are all born with all the potential eggs we will ever have. By the time we reach
puberty, we have about 200,000 eggs in our ovaries, ready to be released.
Ovulation is when one (or sometimes more than one) of these eggs is released by the ovary and makes
the journey down the fallopian tubes, headed for the uterus and potential fertilization by an enterprising sperm.
This is the time when it's possible to become pregnant.
Ovulation starts happening even before you get your period, but usually becomes more regular as you mature.
Most women ovulate about once a month.
