class="wp-caption-text">Source: Ivan Nikolov/WENN.com

Who here read the book Tiger Eyes by Judy Blume when they were younger? It was an amazing book, just like the rest of Judy Blume’s books, which were all must-reads when I was growing up. Well, the movie for Tiger Eyes is actually coming out today, June 7, in select theaters, on iTunes, On Demand and DirecTv. Not only did I get to see the movie, but I also got the chance to interview the star, Willa Holland.

So, first of all, the movie was so great. I cried, I laughed, I felt emotions… overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I recommend everyone see it. Second of all, talking to Willa Holland was awesome. Willa is down-to-earth, funny and feels like she could be your hilarious BFF. In case you’re not familiar with her, Willa has also starred in The OC as Marisa’s little sister and she’s in the TV show Arrow.

Willa spilled on her most embarrassing moment (which is SO funny), how she got bullied when she was younger and some Tiger Eyes and Arrow secrets. Check out the interview:

First, I asked you guys on Instagram to send over some questions for Willa. Here are the three reader questions I asked:

Do you have any weird obsessions?
Everyone says it’s a weird obsession of mine, but I don’t think it’s that weird. I really like bacon a lot. I love to cook and bacon is kind of usually my main ingredient in most of my recipes.

Do you have any embarrassing stories from high school or from when you were younger?
Oh, I definitely do. There was this thing called The Flying Fox, I don’t know why we called it that, but that’s what we did… and it was this little kind of pulley lever that you could slide across one end of the jungle gym to the other. Like, you would hang on it and if you got pushed, you could slide across. So one of my friends, or so I thought she was my friend, was pushing me to the other side of the jungle gym and on the other side was this boy I had a major crush on. And then whilst pushing me, she also decided to pull a major prank on me and pull my pants down, so I go sliding across the thing to the other side of the jungle gym with my pants down to my ankles. It was the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened in my entire life.

Is brown your original hair color and if so, do you ever think about dying your hair?
Brown is my original hair color, I have never dyed my hair. My mother is actually allergic to hair dye. She’s a very lovely looking women and has yet to go gray and she’s never dyed her hair, so I feel like I probably wouldn’t. I kind of like the color of it and I kind of like the fact that my mom hasn’t, so I don’t think I would.

Now, onto questions about Tiger Eyes and Arrow:

Willa in Tiger Eyes

Did you read this book when you were younger?
I did, I read Tiger Eyes when I was a kid. It’s definitely one of those things, you can’t grow up in the ’90s without coming across that.

Your character in the movie dealt with obviously a lot of really tough situations. Have you ever had to deal with anything tough when you were in high school or when you were younger?
I definitely did deal with a lot of difficult things when I was in school. I ended up leaving high school for multiple reasons: because I ended up getting a job when I was about 14-years-old, so I only went for about six weeks of high school. But I also left because school, for me, never really went too smoothly. I got bullied a lot. I was never a popular kid. But I never went through anything as difficult as Davie did, that’s for sure, when I was her age. Thankfully, I’ve never lost a parent or a family member that close to me, or even a friend that close to me. So I mean, to imagine that, to put myself in those shoes, was very difficult and my heart goes out to anyone who has gone through something that traumatic.

Do you have any advice for any girls who are going through something similar to that?
Try to keep your head above water, which is a really difficult thing to do. But my best advice to anybody is to try to keep your head above water and to realize that you’re not alone in situations, try to seek out people that have gone through similar things as you. Honestly, seeking the company of others who have gone through similar situations, as lame as it sometimes sounds, is actually probably the best thing to do in these scenarios because you don’t want to ever feel like you’re alone.

When you say you were bullied, how did you deal with that as a high school student?
Well, I left. Probably not the best course of action, I just ran away from it and then did something else with my life. But I definitely changed my life around and I wanted to prove to everybody that I wasn’t the person that they thought I was because nobody believed in me. When I was in school, I always said that I was going to be an actor and I would dream these things and I was always going on about auditions and I was modeling and doing stuff… and yeah, there would be plenty of days when I was not there, but it wasn’t like I was on a big screen anywhere, it wasn’t like anybody was believing me. And I was like, just you wait, one day I’ll be doing something with my life and one day I’ll be writing movies, and I’ll be behind the big screen, I’ll be behind all the stuff you guys pay attention to. And then I walked out of that school and did exactly that. I realized that the best thing you can do is surround yourself with people who are positive for you and influence you in good ways as well as believe in you.

And it sounds like you really believed in yourself the whole time too, which is great.
Yeah, I just had an idea of where I wanted to be and I saw myself somewhere and I’m continuously pushing myself to get there.

Another still from the movie.

So, how was your experience filming Tiger Eyes?
It was amazing. It was the only project I’ve ever been on where I was number one on the call sheet, especially for that length of time. We were filming for, I want to say about five weeks, and I was shooting in… I mean, there’s not a frame I’m not in, really. I was literally shooting 12-18 hour days five days a week and then also doing prepping all weekend, so it wasn’t really like I got weekends off. And at first when I was staring at the schedule, I was kind of a little dismayed and a little shocked at the amount of work that was ahead of me and the short amount of time I had to do it all. But then the crew that I had and the place I was in… Santa Fe really is a magical place, I have to say. Just the people I was surrounded by and the scenery I had around me just kind of changed everything and made everything go by so smoothly. It was kind of almost like a dream, it was one of the best things I ever worked on.

Any funny behind-the-scenes stories?
I like to think I’m a happy, cheery person and I don’t like to be the downer, even if it is written for the day that we’re filming those scenes and it is going to be one of those downer days, I always try to list people’s spirits up between takes, so I would always be like cracking jokes between tears running down my cheeks. We had so much fun to the point where there wasn’t really a sad moment.

There was just so many funny things that happened. The one scene where I was running after I see my father, while we were filming that scene, I accidentally tripped. But it was the most hilarious trip and fall I’ve ever done in my entire life to the point where I watched it on playback like 20 times. it was amazing. I had tears streaming down my face and I just fell in the most arms flailing everywhere kind of way, it was hilarious.

I know you’re on the show Arrow, can you tell us anything about what’s coming up?
Season two is going to be insane from what I hear. I mean, the writers and producers love to keep us just as much in the dark as they like to keep the fans. So we have no idea what’s going to happen until we get the script in front of us. we’re only like 3 weeks ahead of the fans. I’m quite excited for what’s going to happen.

Check out this clip from the movie:<br

Washington state teenager Britanny Minder knows this intimately, because her breasts kept her out of prom.

Minder found her dream dress, a strapless purple number designed for larger busts, only to be denied entry to her prom because of her visible cleavage.

According to the school’s dress code, strapless dresses are allowed as long as cleavage, midriff, and lower back were covered. Minder and her family don’t have a problem with the dress code, but they feel as if Minder was treated unfairly due to her physique. Minder told CNN that, due to her large breasts, she has little control over her ample cleavage. She was forced to wear a shawl before entering the prom, but only stayed for an hour due to how self-conscious she felt about the ordeal.

“An important night of in life was ruined,” said Minder. “And there’s no way I can gain that experience back.”

I know what some of you are thinking: She didn’t have to wear a strapless dress. She must have known that she was going against the dress code. Maybe she could have worn a dress that covered her cleavage.

KOKO TV

And you’re right, she could have worn a different dress, she likely knew that the school code forbade cleavage, and she didn’t have to wear a strapless dress. As a woman with a large bust, I avoid anything strapless because I know that it doesn’t exactly agree with my chest. So, okay, I understand the criticisms thrown at Minder’s decision.

However, I think that this debacle presents a much bigger discussion. Cleavage is generally believed to be deliberately arousing, but some of us with larger breasts really can’t help how much we fill out a dress. Sure, we can wear something more conservative, but it is ridiculous that we have to always defer to more safe style options because something we can’t control is considered inherently sexual. For large breasted women, unless we’re going to start wearing turtle necks and straight jackets to every formal event, dresses are usually going to show at least a little cleavage. But our cleavage is never seen as tasteful or natural; it is always seen as a deliberate tool of teasing and enticement.

Newsflash: People with large breasts aren’t always using their cleavage as a bat signal for sexy thoughts. It just happens, it’s just there, it just is. Women with large breasts shouldn’t always have to worry about being a living, breathing offense to puritanical sensibility.

This is why so many women and girls feel so ashamed and self conscious about their large breasts: They’re socialized to feel the brunt and the blame of other people’s sexual objectification of their bodies. Whether it’s disgusting men slobbering over them in public, or walking the hallways of a school, we’re treated as if we’re walking distractions, living and breathing violations of dress codes and morality.

But our breasts are not simply objects of desire, and until whoever makes these ridiculous school dress codes figures that out, this won’t be the last time that a young woman’s body is treated as if it is inherently inappropriate.

Do you think the school was right to turn Britanny Minder away from her prom? It has over 100,000 shares already!

Chelsea said in her caption, “Two of my best friends won Cutest Couple of our senior class. First time in my school history a same sex couple has even been able to run for this category, not to mention winning it. So proud of them, and my school.”

The fact that they won the first time a same sex couple could run speaks volumes about this school. And what did Brad and Dylan have to say about the whole thing?

The cutest couple told The Huffington Post, “This whole thing has been a bit surreal for us because we have been raised to believe that love is love. We never realized that our happiness and openness would inspire so many individuals. The support we have received from our family, friends, and even strangers has led us to believe that our affection for each other is normal … When we started dating a year [ago], the thought of a photo of us traveling throughout the world would be a bit frightening, but now we are proud to be part of the LGBT community.”

This is just so precious. I’m so proud of this school and this couple for not giving a rat’s butt about what anyone thinks and letting people be people regardless of their sexual orientation. These two guys are just the best.

While I wish that these kinds of stories would be so normal by now, we’re not quite there yet. And that really sucks. But I am so happy that there are couples like Brad and Dylan who will hopefully inspire other schools to follow suit. And they’re so right: love is love. That’s it.

Do you love this photo or what? Are same sex couples allowed to run for these superlatives at your school? the end of Harry Potter, it’s been thrilling to see Emma move forward and play awesome roles. She was fabulous in My Week With Marilyn, and she was everything in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Now, she’s starring in the upcoming Sofia Coppola film, The Bling Ring which I am literally dying over.

One of our favorite ladies, Tavi Gevinson, interviewed Emma Watson for Rookie Magazine and it did not disappoint. Tavi touches on feeling inadequate and insecure. Emma’s response is just, wow.

“It’s called the impostor syndrome. It’s almost like the better I do, the more my feeling of inadequacy actually increases, because I’m just going, Any moment, someone’s going to find out I’m a total fraud, and that I don’t deserve any of what I’ve achieved. I can’t possibly live up to what everyone thinks I am and what everyone’s expectations of me are. It’s weird—sometimes [success] can be incredibly validating, but sometimes it can be incredibly unnerving and throw your balance off a bit, because you’re trying to reconcile how you feel about yourself with how the rest of the world perceives you.”

Not that I want anyone to feel inadequate, but it’s really refreshing to hear someone like Emma Watson be open about it. She’s someone who you look at and just assume that she has it together all the time. It’s really comforting to know that someone who is successful still has times when they don’t feel 100% because no one is happy with themselves every second of everyday.

And I know exactly the feeling that Emma is talking about. It’s like no matter what you do, you always think you can do better or you think it’s just not enough. You’re wondering why people congratulate you or think you’re so great when you don’t quite feel that way yourself.

Impostor syndrome is a a real thing, too. You can’t accept your accomplishments or you think they’re because of chance instead of skill and hard work. I feel that way a lot and never knew it was an actual thing.

I don’t want Emma Watson to feel like she doesn’t deserve everything she’s achieved in her life, but I am so enamored by her for being so open and honest with us. I think this will help anyone who’s feeling even the slightest bit inadequate to realize they’re not alone in feeling that way.

Do you have impostor syndrome? href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2327492/Abercrombie--Fitch-brand-Hollister-guilty-discriminating-disabled-shoppers-inaccessible-stores.html" target="_blank">ide eye because they’re being accused of discriminating against the disabled. However, the problems don’t lie with a jerk CEO talking smack, but with the way the shops are laid out. People in wheelchairs have issues getting up and down the steps of the stores, most of which are either raised or recessed. Additionally, the layout inside the stores is often too cluttered for people with wheelchairs to get around easily.

I wanted to give Hollister the benefit of the doubt, because while my butt is too big for me to fit into most of their clothes well, I don’t mind walking past it because it smells good and their music is usually less obnoxious than Abercrombie’s. So when I first heard about this, I thought, “Oh, maybe they just don’t know there’s a problem.” But it turns out, they do.

A lot of disability advocates and equal rights groups have brought the issue up to Hollister, but they won’t budge on it because they want their shops to feel like you’re walking into a beach house . . . even though you’re actually walking into a store in the mall.

The store also pointed out that they do have wheelchair accessible doors. Problem is, those “doors” are often disguised as shuttered windows on the “beach house” they’re trying to create, and they’re often blocked with tables and merchandise on the inside. Not nice!

Right now, Hollister is appealing a judge’s ruling–the judge said they actually went so far as to violate the Americans With Disabilities Act, which has been in place since the 90s to ensure stuff like this doesn’t happen.

The problem with Hollister and also with Abercrombie, its parent company, is that they’re trying to sell a lifestyle and not clothes–and they say so themselves: “It’s all about hot lifeguards and beautiful beaches . . . Young and fun, with a sense of humor, Hollister never takes itself too seriously. Hollister’s laid-back lifestyle and All-American image is timeless and effortlessly cool.”

Here’s the thing. Instead of appreciating the business they’re getting–or could get–from people with disabilities, they just drive the point home that in the Hollister world, they don’t belong. And let’s be honest: there’s nothing too American about making life harder for the underdog.

Do you think Hollister is deliberately discriminating against people with disabilities?
