Anyway, while I’ve been mourning the end of Harry Potter, it’s been thrilling to see Emma move forward and play awesome roles. She was fabulous in My Week With Marilyn, and she was everything in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Now, she’s starring in the upcoming Sofia Coppola film, The Bling Ring which I am literally dying over.

One of our favorite ladies, Tavi Gevinson, interviewed Emma Watson for Rookie Magazine and it did not disappoint. Tavi touches on feeling inadequate and insecure. Emma’s response is just, wow.

“It’s called the impostor syndrome. It’s almost like the better I do, the more my feeling of inadequacy actually increases, because I’m just going, Any moment, someone’s going to find out I’m a total fraud, and that I don’t deserve any of what I’ve achieved. I can’t possibly live up to what everyone thinks I am and what everyone’s expectations of me are. It’s weird—sometimes [success] can be incredibly validating, but sometimes it can be incredibly unnerving and throw your balance off a bit, because you’re trying to reconcile how you feel about yourself with how the rest of the world perceives you.”

Not that I want anyone to feel inadequate, but it’s really refreshing to hear someone like Emma Watson be open about it. She’s someone who you look at and just assume that she has it together all the time. It’s really comforting to know that someone who is successful still has times when they don’t feel 100% because no one is happy with themselves every second of everyday.

And I know exactly the feeling that Emma is talking about. It’s like no matter what you do, you always think you can do better or you think it’s just not enough. You’re wondering why people congratulate you or think you’re so great when you don’t quite feel that way yourself.

Impostor syndrome is a a real thing, too. You can’t accept your accomplishments or you think they’re because of chance instead of skill and hard work. I feel that way a lot and never knew it was an actual thing.

I don’t want Emma Watson to feel like she doesn’t deserve everything she’s achieved in her life, but I am so enamored by her for being so open and honest with us. I think this will help anyone who’s feeling even the slightest bit inadequate to realize they’re not alone in feeling that way.

Well, now color me enamored because Amanda just took my breath away with her latest interview in Allure Magazine. She always struck me as someone who never got too caught up in how she looked, which I really appreciate in celebs. She’s not afraid to talk about her insecurities so that makes us feel better in a “Celebs, they’re just like us!” kind of way. But Amanda really is just like us!

In her interview, Amanda talks about how her boobs shrunk from a D to a C after losing weight, which she now regrets: “There was something so beautiful about the size of them. When I look back, I’m like, Why did I always give myself such a hard time?”

Her latest role of former pornstar, Linda Lovelace, helped her be more comfortable with her body, “I’ve got parts of me that I wish were tighter, but I don’t kill myself, because it’s not worth it.”

I love that she’s like, yeah I’m not perfect but so what? It’s so refreshing to hear a celeb say that! Those are the kinds of messages we need to hear on a regular basis, not the “Oh I’m on this cardboard diet” or whatever.

She gives us another little nugget when talking about being made fun of her pale skin (pale is totes beautiful, ladies!) “I’d rather not be ordinary looking. I want something different about me. We all want to be originals.”

THANK YOU. We are all different, and we are all beautiful. No one is perfect, not even the Amanda Seyfrieds of the world. Take heed to what Amanda is saying, stop giving yourself a hard time and give yourself a big old hug instead.

Would you ever nickname your vagina? Rosario Dawson does – and it’s a doozy. The actress went full-frontal for her movie Trance with James McAvoy, and apparently his character had a thing for women who were bare down there, so she had to get a bikini wax, which she admitted was painful–because finally someone is acting human! And that’s how we learned that Rosario nicknames her vagina . . .

“The General!”

Not gonna lie, we kind of love it. Doesn’t it sound fierce and powerful and strong?

But even The General feels pain.

“Waxing hurts! I wasn’t thrilled about that,” she said about the grooming required for the part. “The General, she was angry with me for a little while!” She was a little embarrassed that she brought her vagina nickname up. We don’t blame her since it’s so personal and just kind of slipped out, but we think it’s awesome! She explained, “I was thinking, it would be like she was gnarly. She was mad. I don’t know,” she chuckled. “I can’t think of it. I’m going to get myself in trouble.”

But don’t worry: the General recovered nicely and is no longer being put in pain! “Got the winter do going on,” Rosario said of her break from waxing. “I’m happy.”

We’re not sure what we love more: The fact that Rosario Dawson gave her vagina a military nickname or the fact that she admitted the whole bikini waxing process sort of sucks–especially when no one’s gonna see it anyway!

Her most recent song “Bow Down” has offended a lot of ladies because of its lyrics: “Bow down bitches.” But Queen B said she was just trying to put it out there that she’s more than Jay-Z’s wife. Everyone freaked out that Beyonce had turned into a horrific anti-feminist monster.

Well, in her latest interview with British Vogue she clears up that she isn’t just a feminist, but she’s a modern-day feminist.

“But I guess I am a modern-day feminist. I do believe in equality. Why do you have to choose what type of woman you are? Why do you have to label yourself anything? I’m just a woman and I love being a woman. I do believe in equality and that we have a way to go and it’s something that’s pushed aside and something that we have been conditioned to accept.”

I’m just going to forget she said the “I guess” part. What exactly does it mean to be a modern-day feminist?

Feminism certainly has changed as women have become more equal, but we’re not completely equal as we are constantly reminded on a day-to-day basis. And Beyonce is totally right that we have a long way to go here. It is something that’s pushed aside. I mean, we’re putting up with things like super sexist ads and “easy” to use products just for women.

The beauty, really, of modern-day feminism is that it’s changing with us. You’re going to hear different definitions from different women, and that’s okay. The important thing is that the bottom line is about equality.

Feminism is the belief that the sexes should be equal. You don’t have to go to rallies and stop wearing pink or anything to be a feminist. You can wear heels and be a feminist. Guys can be feminists too!

It’s nice though to hear a celebrity say the F word, though because so many of them don’t. Katy Perry said she’s not a feminist and left us all shaking our fist at her. So while people are up in arms about Beyonce using Mrs. Carter for her tour name and titling her song “Bow Down,” it doesn’t change that she is a feminist.

Who doesn’t love a good rap line about rape, amirite?

UGH. I, along with the rest of the general population, am disgusted by this lyric because rape is never okay. Never, EVER.

After feeling the heat, Rick Ross came out and tried to explain that he didn’t say rape. “I want to make sure this is clear, that woman is the most precious gift known to man. It was a misunderstanding with a lyric, a misinterpretation where the term rape wasn’t used.”

Um…okay. Just because you didn’t explicitly say the word rape doesn’t mean that your lyric wasn’t expressing rape. I’m one thousand percent sure that drugging a woman and having sex with her without her knowledge is rape.

He went on to say “I would never use the term rape in my records. As far as my camp, hip-hop don’t condone that. The streets don’t condone that. Nobody condones that…I just wanted to reach out to all the queens that are on my timeline and all the sexy ladies, the beautiful ladies that had been reaching out to me with the misunderstanding.”

Again, just because you don’t say the actual word rape doesn’t mean it’s not rape! The act of taking advantage of someone against their will is rape no matter what term you personally use to describe it.

This is yet another example of rape culture and how lightly some people are taking a serious issue. Rapists can’t use “Well I didn’t say that it was rape so it’s not rape” as a defense because it’s still rape.

Rape isn’t funny and isn’t just an idea that you can throw around without consequence. That song lyric is disgusting and offensive without the word rape in it because it’s still about rape. It wouldn’t be any better if he did use the word rape.

Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act are headed to the Supreme Court, and celebs are hoping that LGBTQ couples will enjoy the equal rights (including gay marriage) that they deserve! | Source: WENN

If you’ve been anywhere near a TV the last few days, you know that two gay marriage issues are going to the Supreme Court this week. The possibility of the Defense of Marriage Act (which says that marriage is only between a man and a woman) and Proposition 8 from California being overturned hopefully will make gay marriage a reality. A ton of celebs are voicing their support of marriage equality, most of whom took to Twitter to show their belief that love is love. Because honestly, if Susie wants to tie the knot with Heather, whose business is it but theirs?

(I also threw in my own thoughts on the subject, because I’m a staunch supporter, but also a jerk.)

Lena is no stranger to controversy. She deals with it every time she takes her clothes off, which is a lot. And despite being called “blobby” and shamed for her body, she continues to do it.

Good! I’m glad she’s proud of her body enough to put it on display for the world to see. And if anyone should understand body-shaming, it’s Lena. But apparently she doesn’t.

In her recent interview with Playboy, Lena was asked “If you woke up tomorrow in the body of a Victoria’s Secret model, what would you do for the rest of the day?”

And her response was,

“I’d be really disoriented and wonder what had happened in the night. Which enemy had dragged me to the doctor? I don’t think I’d like it very much. There would be all kinds of weird challenges to deal with that I don’t have to deal with now. I don’t want to go through life wondering if people are talking to me because I have a big rack. Not being the babest person in the world creates a nice barrier. The people who talk to you are the people who are interested in you. It must be a big burden in some ways to look that way and be in public. That said, I probably would want to see if I could get free food at restaurants. Then I’d call a doctor and see if she could return me to my former situation.”

I’m really annoyed by this statement. Not only does she use the word “enemy” to define someone who turned her into a VS model, but she goes on to talk about how it’s a burden to look like that. And then she’d see if she could get free food. I love free food just as much as anyone else, but that’s kind of rude.

I don’t think Lena realized the kind of shade this throws on so-called “babe” girls, but it’s there. I’m tall and thin, and I don’t walk around trying to get free stuff or wonder if people are talking to me because my boobs are big. I don’t deal with “weird challenges.” I deal with challenges that every other human being faces on a daily basis. And what is Lena saying? That bigger girls don’t have challenges? That it’s easier?

All I know is that regardless of your body type, there’s no reason to shame others on theirs. It’s just not cool. And regardless of your body type, everyone has challenges and issues that they have to deal with. Even Victoria’s Secret models.

Mean girls are everywhere – they even pick on girls as awesomely amazing as – GASP – Jennifer Lawrence. Yes, it’s true – everyone’s favorite female celeb was once picked on and bullied in school.

This seems kind of impossible, since Jennifer Lawrence is currently one of the coolest celebrities ever. I mean, she falls up stairs accepting Oscars, she orders McDonald’s on the red carpet, she’s extremely self-deprecating and she was caught on camera reacting to Jack Nicholson’s creepiness in the best way possible – the girl can do wrong. Who would ever bully her?! But really, this shouldn’t be such a huge surprise. I feel like every other week, I hear another story about a gorgeous and talented star who dealt with bullying when they were younger.

What stands out with JLaw is, obviously, her amazing way of dealing with these bullies. That should come as no surprise – if anyone is going to have a kick-ass comeback to a mean girl, it would be Jennifer Lawrence. I mean, come on.

So, what is Jennifer Lawrence’s advice on how to deal with bullies? In an interview with The Sun, JLaw said, “I changed schools a lot when I was in elementary school because some girls were mean. They were less mean in middle school, because I was doing all right, although this one girl gave me invitations to hand out to her birthday party that I wasn’t invited to. But that was fine, I just hocked a loogie on them and threw them in the trash can.”

She adds: “Don’t worry about the bitches – that could be a good motto, because you come across people like that throughout your life.”

Um, guys? I have legitimately never hocked a loogie in my entire life – it grosses me out to no end – but now that Jennifer Lawrence has said that, I want to start doing it. Like, to every mean person who crosses my path. I don’t care if you’re an Internet troll or my boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend or the store clerk who gives me an attitude. If you’re rude, I’m going to spit on you.

In all seriousness, could Jennifer Lawrence get any cooler? This is such a badass way to deal with bullies. I mean, if that were me, I probably would have just cried, called my mom and went home for the day. I can totally see mini Jennifer spitting on a pile of letters and throwing them in a trash can while being like, “Whatever, dude.” And so my girl crush gets bigger.

I think I have discovered my “dating attitude” twin in Dakota Fanning.

In her interview in Glamour‘s March issue, Dakota said “I don’t really date,” but it was actually her reasoning behind that statement that made me feel like she was speaking to myself when I was her age.

In the interview, Dakota talks a little about how her parents met as children and then married after college, citing their love story as kind of an inspiration for her feelings on dating.

“I’ve always thought that’s what it’s supposed to be like, and if it’s not, then I don’t want to waste my time on it,” Dakota told Glamour. “Even when I was 14, I was like, ‘I’m not gonna marry this person. What’s the point of doing it?’”

As a teen, I felt exactly the same way. My parents don’t really have that sort of adorable story, so in my case, I don’t think it was so much the influence of others around me as it was just a product of my personality. I like being super in control and always having a plan. Dating is no exception.

I had zero boyfriends in high school. I had a lot of crushes and even went on a couple dates here and there, but honestly, it was a pretty boy-free zone. It wasn’t that I didn’t want a boyfriend, but I watched people in high school be BF/GF for like a couple weeks or maybe a couple months, and for me, that didn’t seem like something that fit in my plan. I had so much going on in my life, so if I was going to be able to give a relationship the attention it deserved, I wanted it to be a strong investment, not something that I later regretted doing.

There were just certain things I knew I would want in a boyfriend that I felt would make for a more meaningful and longer-lasting relationship. I just didn’t want to settle for guys who didn’t have those qualities.

Now, I don’t think when you start dating someone that automatically means you are a couple that must stay together forever. People change, things happen. When my current BF first asked me out in college, it’s not like I was like, “Yes! I’ll be your girlfriend! Now let’s make a marriage plan and a timeline of our whole future!” That said, I do think there is some value in at least thinking a little long term.

Before we did make it official, I did really consider if this relationship was something I could see lasting, and I was pretty open with him about thinking that way. We were in the same program at school and only freshmen – if this was just going to be some kind of quick throwaway thing and we were going to be around each other all the time the next four years, I didn’t want to get involved.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with dating a bunch of different people. Not at all! In fact, sometimes I wonder if maybe I should have been more open to it, and not have been so scared that something wouldn’t work out or I wouldn’t make perfect relationship choices.

I felt self-conscious about not having a boyfriend for a long time, but in the end, I just feel the way I feel about certain things. I know I wouldn’t have ever been totally comfortable dating someone that I didn’t feel really sure about at least there being a possibility of a long-term connection. I’ve now been dating my first boyfriend for five years, so at least in my case, being kind of selective worked out pretty well.

Now, if only I could be Dakota’s style twin, I think my life would be complete.
