6 Easy Ways To Enhance Your Eyebrows

If you like to spend your free time scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram for new beauty looks to try, you will probably have developed some ideas about #flawless eyebrows from all of the images and tutorials. You probably now think that the best eyebrows require at least 30 steps, eight products and a completely random “beauty” tool like tape or a piece of floss. The process might work for the beauty bloggers, but there are some simpler, more conventional ways to make brows look good.

I’m all for being experimental, but not if it makes my morning routine considerably longer. In the AM, I want tips and tricks that will help me look as fresh as a daisy but allow me to sleep in as long as possible. And that applies from my hair to my clothes to my brows. Do you agree? Here are six ways to enhance your eyebrows.

Use An Eyebrow Brush

You will actually be amazed at what a difference simply running an eyebrow brush over your brows can do. It might not seem like much, but trust me. Chances are you have a spoolie eyebrow brush or mini comb if you have a basic makeup brush kit. If not, an old *clean* mascara wand or a soft-bristled toothbrush will work.

Use A Bit Of Gel

You can use some brow gel after you use an eyebrow brush or you can use the gel on its own and use your fingers to groom your brows as you apply the gel. There are special eyebrow gels like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel ($22) or you can use a bit of the gel you have for your hair. Just go easy on it because you don't want your brows to be sticky or crispy.

Try A Brow Tint Product

No, you don't need to go to a salon to get your brows tinted. There are lots of brow tint products available. The benefit to them is that they can be swiped on brows, leaving behind a wash of color and a natural-looking finish. If you're a brow newbie, they're easier to apply than pencils and pomades because you don't need to worry about applying individual strokes to replicates little hairs. The Ulta Brown Tint ($10) is a good option.

Use Clear Mascara

You could use a traditional colored mascara on your brows, but you run the risk of overdoing it. The easier option is to use a clear mascara to enhance brows. There are options that are meant for lashes and brows like the Essence Lash & Brow Gel Mascara ($2.99). Clear mascaras give eyebrows and lashes a glossy look without adding any color.

Use Highlighter

This is a different approach. Rather than applying the color to your actual brows, focus on applying a shimmering highlighter around them to enhance their shape. You can choose a liquid, powder, or cream in almost any light shade. And you can even use a highlighter you already have. The best place to apply the highlighter is on the brow bone. Bonus: It will also make eyes sparkle. Try something like the Wet n Wild Illumi-Naughty Highlighting and Concealing Pen ($4.99).

Use A Semi-Permanent Product

I don't want you to get scared of this one just because of the words *semi-permanent.* I'm not suggesting you go get your eyebrows tattooed or anything. There are a rising number of brow products where you can apply them and they'll stay on for a couple of days which means you don't have to do your brows every day. The Etude House Tint My Brows ($9) is one option that reviewers claim does hold up.
