7 Little Things Every Girl Should Do Before Going To Bed

Let’s talk about everybody’s favorite subject: sleep! I know we all love our ~beauty~ rest, but as we get older, sleeping gets harder and harder. And that really sucks when you need to wake up for school or work in the morning. I know over the summer, sleeping isn’t really a huge deal, since you can stay up until four in the morning watching YouTube makeup tutorials and sleep in until noon. But now that it’s the school year and you’ve got things to do, you really need to work hard on getting a good nights sleep. And, let me tell you, that is hard.

Sleeping is important, but so are the few minutes before you sleep. You should help prepare your mind and body for sleep, and for the next day. That’s a lot of pressure, especially when you’re tired and just want to jump into bed and doze off. But, there are a few things you should do every single night before drifting off to ensure that you have a good nights sleep. If you need some pointed, check out these things that every girl needs to do before bed. Trust me!

Turn Off Your Phone

You've probably heard this a dozen times, but here it is again: being on your phone before bed is bad, even though we all love to do it. I know scrolling through Twitter is everyone's nightly ritual, but it can really interfere with your beauty rest. Try to go screen-free for at least 30 minutes before bed. It will help you fall asleep faster and be more well-rested for the morning!

Wash Your Face

The number one rule of wearing makeup is that you NEED to wash it off before going to bed. Even if you don't wear makeup, you need to wash your face to clean off all of that dirt and random things that can accumulate on your face during the day.

Pick Out Your Outfit For Tomorrow

We all know how hard it is to wake up in the morning, so if you pick out your outfit the night before, you can sleep in a few minutes later. Check the weather, pick something you'll be comfortable in, and go to bed without having to worry about choosing an outfit in the morning.

Keep Water Around

As you sleep, you get really dehydrated. I know I sound like a mom, but it's true. You want to keep water by your bed before you sleep so you don't get dehydrated. It's good for your skin, plus we all know how annoying it is to wake up with a dry cough at three in the morning.

Don't Eat Right Before Bed

I am guilty of this! But eating right before bed isn't the best thing. Your body isn't really meant to digest and sleep at the same time, which means that if you have dinner at 11 pm and get to bed at 11:30, your body won't have enough time to process that food and it can leave you will an awful stomach ache. Little snacks are okay, just be careful! You don't want to wake up in the morning and feel sick.

Plan Your Day Tomorrow

If you get anxious about the day ahead (I know I do!) then make a little plan for what you're going to do the next day. Maybe you have a ton of chores or things to do. Make a list of what needs to be done and when it needs to be done by. It can help ease your mind a bit and make tomorrow seem a lot more manageable.

Yes, this is optional, but masturbating CAN make you tired, which means that if you have a trouble sleeping, it can help put you in the ~mood~ to drift off. You might want to try it!
