14 Relationship Goals That Are Actually Healthy

At this point, I am going to go ahead and assume that you know what relationship goals are. I feel comfortable assuming this about you because it is 2017 and you are on the internet. Then again, it is possible that you have some more important things on your mind, and, if that is the case, I will give you a brief primer: Relationship goals are essentially an internet concept (not quite a meme, but still greater than a trend) that has been popularized by a few key Instagram and Pinterest posts over the past few years that feature (mainly) conventionally attractive, heterosexual couples doing expensive activities together. There is nothing wrong with this, per se, except it makes it seem as though a relationship relies on nothing but aesthetics and cash, which is good for Instagram, but not great for life.
Still, with that being said, I am not against the concept of either relationships or goals, like, in general. So, by proxy, there is nothing wrong with being in a relationship and maybe wanting to plan ahead and have some goals for said relationship. Being aimless does not benefit anyone! You just have to keep these goals, you know, healthy. Not codependent, borderline abusive and, as many typical relationship goals seem to be, ultimately destructive. So, check out these healthy and attainable relationship goals right here:

1. Feeling secure with your partner, even when you’re having some time apart:

2. Dating someone who loves and respects you for who you are:

3. And being with someone who gives you this feeling:

4. Being super into each other but, like, not in a destructive way:

5. Because you both improve the other’s life:

6. This, probably:

7. Also, this:

8. Someone who sends you sexts like this:

9. And this:

10. Understanding that there will probably be some pitfalls along the way:

11. But other things will make it feel worth it:

12. Especially when they push you to do unexpected things:

13. And when they do small things to make your life a little easier:

14. Basically!
