14 Insane Conspiracy Theories That Will Destroy Your Childhood

Conspiracy theories are having a moment right now. You know how I know this? Pinterest–the website that is best known for its multitudinous overnight oats recipes and DIY skincare treatments–is, oddly enough, rife with them. Though, if you think about it a little more, it’s really not even that strange. Gwyneth Paltrow and Alex Jones sell the same herbal supplements on their lifestyle websites, after all, so the fact that conspiracy theories exist on Pinterest makes sense in some weird, convoluted way. Much like conspiracy theories themselves!

Anyway, I have mixed feelings on conspiracy theories as a whole. The ones on, like, old Nickelodeon TV shows are certainly fun and provocative, but others–like Sandy Hook and 9/11 truthers–have the potential to cause legitimate, painful damage. So I will not be focusing on those today! Instead, we are here today to discuss the fun kind. Or, to be more exact, the ones that are not exactly fun, given that they will ruin everything you one held dear in your childhood, but they are still more fun than the ones that threaten to weaken the very fabric of our democracy. So, check out these conspiracy theories that will absolutely destroy your childhood:
