18 Butterfly Makeup Looks You Need To Try For Halloween

Some of us love DIY Hallowen costumes while others prefer to use their makeup skills to impress on October 31. If you prefer to treat (or maybe trick) with your makeup brushes, then you probably know that there are a ton of Halloween makeup looks to play around with.

Zipper looks, skulls, animals, princesses, unicorns. You name it, you can create an awesome makeup look for Halloween. While unicorns and mermaids will undoubtedly be hot looks this year, butterflies are an oh-so-pretty look for Halloween. They’re especially great if you’re not into all the blood, guts, and gore. However, if you’re after a ~*spookier*~ look, you can create one using a butterfly base, too. Basically, no matter your mood, you can get a butterfly look to create it. Have a look at 18 butterfly makeup looks that would look awesome on Halloween…or at any festival.

1. Pink and Purple Butterfly Makeup

Why stop at your face? Continue the butterfly makeup down your neck.

2. Butterfly and Skull Makeup

Cannot decide between butterfly and skull makeup? Don’t. Wear both to one party.

3. Red Butterfly Face Paint

Top marks for coordinating the face paint with the lips and cardigan. And a gold star for the arty photo.

4. Half Butterfly Makeup

@the_wigs_and_makeup_manager + @face_lace Collab!! Deciding which of her amazing creations to use as a starting point was the only difficulty of collaborating with such a talent as @the_wigs_and_makeup_manager AKA Vanessa Davis! We mutually decided on a Butterfly motif – a favourite for both of us. We had so much FUN and excitement at the Face Lace studio together. We wanted to make something full of our Dazzle Material that Vanessa loves so much, and also use her trademark jaw design which is so hauntingly beautiful. We also wanted to make it as easy for you to use as possible. This is the crystallised version which is only available on the @face_lace website, there is also a non-crystallised version- We hope you all LOVE it! photos by @matthewshave Hair by @patrickforini makeup Phyllis @face_lace model @ellenburton_ @profilemodels film @parmesan_chic music by Leon Haxby @no_face808 #collab #MUAtogether #teamwork #vanessadavis #phylliscohen #vanessaandphyllis #skulltressandfacelace #mariposa #easyhalloween #glamhalloween #halloween2017 #skullmakeup #crystalskull #makeupinspo #prettyhalloween #butterflyskull #butterflymakeup #supersparkly #crystals #swarovski

This shimmering butterfly look rocks from the side. When you see it straight on and realize that it’s a half-face look, it gets even cooler.

5. “Butterfly Maze” Makeup

The chest tattoo definitely adds to the look, but without the ink, all of those swirling lines look fierce AF.

6. Butterfly Nose Makeup

Proof that you don’t need a full face of butterfly makeup to make a statement. The Victorian vibe is also very cool.

7. Creepy Butterfly Makeup

You're my butterfly, sugar baby?

This makeup is one part butterfly, one part Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. It might sound random, but it works.

8. Pale Purple Butterfly Skull Makeup

For people who think that butterfly makeup might be a tad too pretty for Halloween, try this skull version.

9. Butterfly Eyebrows Makeup

Don’t think you have the skill to use your liquid liner to create an elaborate butterfly design? Use pre-made pieces. Then glue on some holographic eyebrows. Just because.

10. Yellow Butterfly Makeup

It’s as much about the intricate black eyeliner as it is the yellow gradient. Notice the lines on her neck?

11. Purple Butterfly Eye Makeup

Check out the way the icy blue lip plays up the color in the wings.

12. Blue and Pink Butterfly Makeup

The way this butterfly makeup is half on the nose makes it for me.

13. Orange Butterfly “Mask” Makeup

Last one ☺️❤️??

Better than any actual mask. Fact.

Make sure you use some heavy duty face paint for this look if you want to eat and drink, okay?

No matter what color(s) you create your butterfly makeup with, it will turn out dazzling.

17. “The Anti-Social Butterfly” Makeup

Can we just talk for a second about how fantastic this name is? And is it weird to say that there’s something cute about those butterflies going into her face?

18. Butterfly and Neon Skull Makeup

Just take a second to appreciate the fine details in this butterfly-skull makeup. #Slay
