11 Easy DIY Ways To Get Rid Of Blackheads

Usually, I don’t like to curse on this website. But, today, I have to get real with you all for a sec and say that, personally, I find blackheads to be extremely offensive.

Blackheads, if you are (luckily? Blessedly? Somehow???) unaware, are the small, slightly raised bumps that appear on the skin due to clogged hair follicles. They kind of look like little splotches of dirt on the skin, and, if you have ever had them, you’ll know that they can be fairly impossible to stop thinking about once you notice them, and, aggravatingly, pretty challenging to remove. Fortunately, they are not impossible to remove. In fact, there are some ways to remove them that you can do right now, since most of them only require materials you should already have lying around at home. So, check out these easy, DIY ways to get rid of blackheads right here:

1. An at-home face steam:

If you do one thing to treat blackheads, it should be steaming your face. This helps to loosen up the pores and make anything you do with your blackheads–whether it’s extractions or spot treatment–much more effective. Plus, it’ll give your skin a healthy, even all-around glow.

2.

I love using activated charcoal for blackheads, since it can help absorb impurities, making blackheads seem less prominent. This is an awesome DIY option if you don’t feel like shelling out cash for a store-brand one.

3. Try a peel-off mask:

Love peel-off masks? Make your own! This way, you can get all of the benefits of activated charcoal, plus the extracting benefit of the peel-off portion.

4.  Make your own pore strips:

Blackheads tend to collect on the nose, which makes pore strips a good way to spot treat. This is a super easy DIY option that you can throw together with stuff you probably already have in your kitchen.

5.  Baking soda scrub:

Baking soda is a great way to slough off dead skin cells, which makes treating blackheads easier.

6. Use skincare products with these ingredients:

Maybe don’t use all of these at once (there are a lot!) but picking and choosing among them can help eliminate blackheads.

7. Make your own sheet mask:

This will clear out your pores, minimize blackheads, and give your skin a more even tone overall.

8. Try a flour and honey mask:

This is another common DIY trick that, by all accounts, works really well. Give it a shot!

9. Or a turmeric face mask:

Turmeric works for everything, right? Of course right! If anything, it definitely can’t hurt blackhead treatment.

10. Try an apple cider vinegar treatment:

This isn’t something you should do every day, but every time you feel like your pores need a deep clean, give this a shot.

11. Try this DIY peel-off mask:

This is a great mask to hep peel off dead skin and remove blackheads. Plus, it’s made of milk and gelatin, which is much, much cheaper than most peel-off masks can be.
