It’s almost time to start thinking about the most important outfit you will wear this year. It’s not your first day of school outfit, although that is up there on the list. Instead, it’s your Halloween costume. Yes, I know it’s a little early, but before you know it, that time will be here, and you might as well be prepared with a cool costume! I know it’s hard to pick it out, but I have some ideas for you.
I love looking at Halloween costumes, and I don’t know about you, but I’m bored of the same old stuff. Yes, a witch is cool and a Cher from Clueless costume will always be a classic, but don’t you want to try and be something a little more unique? The beauty of Halloween is that it’s at the end of the year, when everyone is reminiscing about all of the funny (and not so funny) moments from the past year. You want to impress everyone with your clever costume, so you should try to do some pop culture-inspired looks. Luckily, there are a lot of those this year. Take a look at these 15 pop culture costumes you can only wear in 2017.
Evan Peters In American Horror Story: CultThis is a horrifying costume TBH, but I'm sure it will be popular this year. Evan plays an evil Trump supporter who has blue hair and puts cheetos on his face. So...he's scary enough for Halloween.
Riverdale CharactersYou and your ~squad~ can be the Riverdale crew. Betty should have a high pony with pink clothes, and Veronica should wear anything black with pearls. It's a perfect idea!
Mocking Spongebob MemeThis meme is a little old, but it's still a classic that would make a good Halloween costume. Wear a yellow top, some brown shorts, a hat, and make a disgusted face. Then you're all set!
Pennywise The Clown From ItYes, it's an old movie, but there is a remake coming out this year, so you'll be on brand. Just be a clown, but carry a red balloon and maybe kill people (just kidding).
Reese Witherspoon As Audrey Hepburn In Big Little LiesThis is a little bit of an obscure costume, but any BLL fan will know what it is. If not,, then any Audrey Hepburn fan will definitely know who you are. Just wear an oversized button down and an eye mask!
Jyn Erso from Rogue OneThis movie came out last year, but it was after Halloween, so we never got the full Star Wars costume experience. This look is pretty easy, just war a motto jacket and a scarf, then throw your hair in a bun. Add some dirt on your face for a realistic effect.
Wonder WomanI'm sure there will be a million of these this year, but so what. This movie was awesome and Wonder Woman is a total badass.
Beyonce's Birth PictureWhy not? Wear a veil and some flowers to recreate her ~iconic~ baby picture. You probably won't look as good as her, but you can try!
Diane From Twin PeaksA white wig and colorful dress will help you make this costume come to life. Also, curse a lot and you'll really fit the part. Diane is a badass.
Ruth From GlowThe Netflix series was an unexpected hit, and their costumes are pretty easy to recreate. Just wear a one-piece suit over tights and tease your hair a bit.
Stranger ThingsYes, this was a big costume last year, but the new season airs this October, which might give you enough time to plan a season two costume. There are a couple new characters that you might was to dress as!
Yelling Meryl MemeThis one is easy! Just wear a long steve black shirt and yell at stuff. It's a very easy DIY.
The Handmaid's TaleThis is a depressing costume, but it's very recognizable at this point. All you need is a red dress and white hat, and you're ready for a future ruled by misogynistic overlords.
Zombie Taylot SwiftRemember when Taylor Swift dropped a very questionable music video? Well, she played different versions of herself, and one of them was a zombie. All you need is some zombie makeup and a blue dress and you're good.
Any Taylor SwiftShe not-so-subtly dragged her past selves in the "Look What You Made Me Do" video, so there are quite a few options here.
Are you going to try any of these costumes this year? Tell us in the comments!
