8 Important Tips For Masturbating With A Vibrator

Masturbating is the best form of self-love there is. You get to explore your body AND feel good. It’s your “you” time where you get to just lay down and really get to feel amazing. If you’re a masturbating MASTER (hehe, get it) then you might have been looking into getting a vibrator to amp up your self-love sessions. Honestly, good for you. A lot of people won’t talk about vibrators since they are a little taboo, but we LOVE talking about them here at Gurl, so we have got the best tips.

You could, of course, just go out, buy a vibrator, and use it, but your best bet is to take a look at some tips before doing so. You don’t want to get the wrong one, or, worst case scenario, hurt yourself or even get an infection from one. You really want to do some research to not only make sure you’re getting the right one, but to know that you’re also using is in the best way. If you’re a vibrator newbie, be sure to read some of these tips before getting it on.

Decide What Type Of Vibrator You Want

There are actually quite a few different types of vibrators. You don't want to just buy the cutest one or the cheapest, although I totally understand that appeal. Be sure to do some research on all of the different types of vibrators that exist. There are tiny finger vibrators, or longer ones. It's all personal preference!

Make Sure It's Waterproof

If you want to try doing it in the shower, be sure that you're using a waterproof vibrator. You do NOT want to get injured because of a non-waterproof vibrator! If it's not waterproof, it's best to keep it out of the shower.

Don't Make Direct Contact At First

Using a vibrator might be a little too intense at first, so you're going to want to try it out in stages. Maybe try it on a lower setting, even over your underwear at first. You don't want to be over-stimulated when you're just starting out. Take it slow! You've got time.

Use Lube

Vibrators can be a little harsh, especially if you're not used to them, so you want to be as comfortable as possible. Be sure to use a little bit of lube down there before diving right in with the vibrator. It will get you "warmed up."

Use Your Fingers Too

You can use your fingers in addition to the vibrator, which will help you feel super ~stimulated~. If you want, keep one hand on your clitoris, and the other hand holding your vibrator.

Clean It When You're Done

Not to be gross, but a vibrator can get ~sticky~ which means it can attract bacteria. After you use it, be sure to wash it (but take the batteries out first!) and dry it. This will help keep it clean for the next time you use it! Trust me, you do NOT want to put something that close to your vagina if it's not clean.

Keep It Somewhere Safe

I know you might want to hide your vibrator under your bed or in some sock drawer, but make sure it won't gather dust or bacteria. It's super important that you keep your vibrator somewhere safe.

Do What Feels Good!

If it starts to hurt or doesn't feel good - stop! There is no reason so keep going if you're not having fun. Take a break or try it again later. There is no rush. As long as you're having fun and it feels good, then that's all that matters. Some people don't even like vibrators, and that's okay!
