I’m sorry to tell you this, but summer doesn’t last forever. In fact, summer 2017 is coming to a close pretty soon. It’s not *over* yet, but we are getting there. August is only a few days away, and as we all know, August is the Sunday of summer, which means that those anxious Sunday feels are creeping upon us. You probably have about a month left before school starts, and we all know how fast that will go by. I know it’s super scary, especially if you’re heading into your senior year of high school, which will probably be SUPER stressful. But! Don’t freak out yet, because there are definitely “summer” things that you can do during your last month of freedom.
Even though summer is winding down, that doesn’t mean you have to be in school mode as soon as it turns August. There is still time to make the most of your summer and take all of your summer photos so that you can Instagram them in December with a “TBT, I miss summer” caption (we’ve all been there). If you are starting to get a little nervous about the school year approaching, take a look at these easy things that you can still do before your vacation ends. You’ve got this! Happy summer, girl.
Go On A Mini Road TripOnce school starts, you won't have a ton of time to go on a spontaneous road trip. Grab a couple of friends, make a cool driving playlist then head on the road for a little. You don't have to go FAR, but a quick road trip will be a perfect thing for you and your girls to look forward to before the school year begins. Image Source: iStock
Shop For Back To School ClothesYou might as well get on those summer sales and shop for a new back to school wardrobe! There are a ton of stores that have back to school sales, so you should take advantage of that and try out a new style to wear this fall. Image Source: iStock
Get Your Work DoneThere is nothing worse than your teacher asking for your summer assignments and you have nothing to give them. You had two months to get this done, and you totally forgot (or pretended to forget), so now you have to throw an essay together last minute, or read a 300-page book in one night. You have time to get it over with, so you might as well do it now! Image Source: iStock
Hang With Friends...A LotBefore schoolwork and after school activities get in the way, be sure to hang with your friends for the last few weeks of summer. Friends are super important, and it can be hard to make time to hang with them during the school year. Meet up with your squad and make your own bucket list for the school year. It will give you all something to look forward to! Image Source: iStock
Spend Time OutsideMy biggest summer regret is not spending more time outside in the sun. Yes, it's hot, but the Vitamin D from the sun is REALLY good for you, and you might as well take advantage of that while it's still bearable outside. Unfortunately, winter will be here before you know it, so you really want to get as much sun as you possibly can! Unless you live someplace where it is warm year round, in which case I am very jealous. Image Source: iStock
Check Out Your Bucket ListIf you really want to make the most of your summer, be sure to double check your bucket list and finish off anything that you haven't done. You've got a couple more weeks of warm weather and free time, so you should utilize it! Image Source: iStock
RelaxBefore you know it, your life will be filled with stress, drama, and homework. Take these next few weeks to really plan some "you" time. You should recharge before school starts! Self care is really important. Take a bath,do your nails, watch some of your favorite movies, etc. Image Source: iStock
Which of these things have you done? Tell us in the comments!
