At this point, I think we can all agree that the word “daddy” has more or less lost all of its meaning. There was a time, for many of us, when the word “daddy” meant, I don’t know. A father? Or something? But now, as we all know, it means something else entirely.

I didn’t want to talk about this today. The whole “daddy” thing is barely even scandalous anymore! Why, just the other day, I found a Tumblr account dedicated to posting photos of Tom Holland and ranking them in terms of how “daddy” they were, and I hardly batted an eye! But, yesterday, I  saw a tweet–featured below–and, to be honest, I have not been able to stop thinking about it since the moment I first laid eyes on it, given how deeply seen and felt by it:


 

In addition to feeling personally attacked by this tweet, I was reminded that I will most likely never feel comfortable with the word “daddy” for the rest of my life. In all honesty, has made things like this fairly difficult to look at:
