Hello! It’s me, your favorite Lazy Girl. I, like the rest of you, love summer because the hot weather is a perfect opportunity for me to blast the AC and not leave my room for days at a time. But, I also tend to feel a tiny bit guilty about the fact that I don’t really DO things in the summer time. It’s not my fault, I just get too lazy to go on big adventures and long road trips with friends! And, that’s okay. It’s okay to be lazy sometimes. I would rather be lazy then overwhelmed by every task and event that I have to do. That makes sense, right? But even if you hate doing ~things~, there are still some ways to have fun this summer.
If you don’t know how to do basically nothing but also accomplish stuff at the same time, it’s okay! That’s what I’m here for. I made this list of really easy things that every lazy girl can do this summer. They don’t take a lot of effort, but when you are done, you will still feel proud of y0urself and generally satisfied. So much so, in fact, that you’ll feel justified in treating yourself with another Netflix binge. Trust me, summer is the perfect time to relax and do this easy, lazy girl-approved bucket list. Try them out!
Finish That TV Show You've Been Meaning To FinishOkay, we ALL have that one show that we started three years ago and never got to finish. Now is the time! You can finally watch all 13 seasons of Grey's Anatomy! Honestly, finishing a TV show is a weird sort of accomplishment, and that's a very doable summer task. Image Source: Gilmore Girls
Watch Movies You've Been Meaning To WatchIs there a movie that you've been meaning to watch, but just haven't gotten around to it? For me, it's La La Land, but I'm unsure if I will ever watch that one, TBH. Summer is the perfect time to catch up on movies you've been meaning to see. Set them up on your Netflix queue, order a pizza and go to town. You will be a movie expert by the time August rolls around. Image Source: 500 Days Of Summer
Make A Book List And Actually Read The BooksSummer reading is important. I am a huge hypocrite since I rarely read books anymore, but I am going to try this summer! Make a list of books you've been meaning to read and do you best to read them. Honestly, finishing a book is a super satisfying experience, and you should try it out this summer. Watch The SunriseYes, you have to be up early, but you can go back to sleep right after. Sunrises in the summer are pretty and very Instagrammable. Just try and wake up for one, just once! It'll be worth it. Image Source: The OC
Learn An InstrumentOkay, hear me out. It SOUNDS like it would be very hard, but there is actually a new app called Fender Play that makes learning music really easy, and summer is the perfect time to do that. You can learn how to play guitar with super simple online lessons, and even learn your favorite songs. I mean, wouldn't it be cool if you came back for school in the fall as an expert at the guitar? It's worth a shot, for sure! Image Source: Freaky Friday
Put Up A HammockIf you have a backyard, try DIYing your own hammock. Yes, you have to put in a little bit of work, but in the end, you'll have a hammock that is PERFECT for lazy days. Have a family member help you out, since it can get a little tricky, then you'll have an outdoor ~chill spot~ to hang in all summer. It's like a bed, but outside! Genius. Image Source: Degrassi
Make An Instagram For Your PetThese are really a thing right now, guys. I am guilty of following at least two (dozen) of these accounts on Instagram, and they are super entertaining. If you have a pet, set them up for a photoshoot and make them their own Instagram account. Yes, it's silly. It's also adorable AF and a good way to get a ton of IG followers without actually having to do anything. Image Source: The Princess Diaries
Take A Train RideThis one is for all of the introverted lazy girls out there. Put your summer playlist on your phone then head out on a train. It's like a trip, but you don't have to do anything except sit on a train and listen to music/read/write/draw. You'll feel good for leaving your house and going on a little adventure, but it's nothing too risky or overwhelming. Image Source: Before Sunrise
Try Not ShavingToo lazy to shave? Don't do it. See how you feel! You might feel ~liberated~ and not want to shave for the rest of the summer. That's cool! It's definitely worth a shot. It's a super lazy way to try something different! Image Source: Friends
Are you going to do any of these things this summer? Tell us in the comments!
