How To Take Screenshots Of Snapchats Without The Person Knowing

We’ve all been there: you’re creeping on someone’s Snapchat story when you see something super ~interesting~ that you really want to share with your BFF… except sharing it would require you to screenshot it, therefore letting this person know that you are creeping on their life hard. If you haven’t been there, you are LYING. Just kidding, but I’m sure many of us can relate. It’s only human to want to share things with other people, even if it isn’t really yours to share. But soon, all of us creepy Snapchat users can actually take screenshots WITHOUT the person knowing. I know, this is a lot of power for one person.

With the announcement of the new Apple products comes the iOS11, which blows my mind since I remember iOS7 like it was yesterday, but whatever. This new operating system will have some cool features like a new control center (which was definitely needed) and a new iMessage money sending-system (RIP Venmo). But what is causing major buzz among the Snapchat community is the new “screen recording” mode that will be available on the new operating system. Yes, screen recording, which is super sneaky and somewhat creepy.
When the new iOS is released this fall, you will be able to record, take screenshots, and save anything that is on your iPhone screen, which means that you will be able to take screenshots of pictures AND videos, without the user knowing. This would probably work for Instagram Stories too, but I’m not entirely sure yet.

So, that means that next time you see all of your friends hanging out without you on Snapchat and want to take a screenshot for #recipts, you can do so without notifying them. The bad news is that, unfortunately, Snapchat might find a way around this feature, since it won’t be available until later this year, and they will have time to work out some kinks. But, it’s still a cool feature that I will (probably) be using.

On the other hand, it can be a pretty risky thing: you might send a Snapchat that you don’t want to be saved, but the person saves it anyway. This just means that it’s really important to never send anything to someone that you don’t want anyone else to see. Yes, this includes anything that can come back to haunt you, like a video of you bullying someone or talking sh*** via Snapchat.  I know that you might get caught up in the moment, but it’s important to remember that basically anything you do these days can get back to you, so be nice!
