Is It Possible To Ruin Your Vagina By Masturbating?

We hear a lot of things about vaginas. Some are legit, some are random, and some are downright bananas. And sometimes the stuff that sounds like it’s ridiculous is actual facts. I don’t know about you, but I have hard time separating fact from fiction, and that is one of the reasons why a lot of people wonder about whether they can ruin their vaginas from masturbating.

If you’ve heard this one and are wondering whether you’re okay to rub away or whether you should do away with masturbating entirely, I’m here to clear some things up for you.

So, can masturbating really ruin your vag?

Well, it depends on how you define “ruin.” If you define ruin as an injury then it is possible. However, you’re not going to “ruin” your vagina by masturbating too much. So, if you’re a four-sessions-a-day-kind-of-girl and you’re safe, continue away.

Omg. So should I stop masturbating right away?

No, there’s no need to have that extreme of a reaction. However, it’s your personal decision what you want to do (and not do) down there. If you are going to masturbate, it’s just about being careful and being clean. It’s the same thing with any sort of sexual act, or even any activity in life, really.

How can I ruin/injure my vag while masturbating?

There are a number of things that can potentially go wrong and they all depend on the things that you’re using to masturbate, if any. For example, you could ruin your vag by masturbating with long fingernails. You could become a bit too aggressive with a dildo and cause a bit of chaffing down there. Or you could just stick it in at the wrong angle and cause some discomfort.

So, how do I avoid it?

One of the simplest ways to avoid ruining your vag is to take things slow until you’re comfortable with your body and you have a greater idea of your limits. There’s no need to do things at a super fast pace. Slow can be just as pleasurable.

Oh, and don’t masturbate in any awkward positions that could involve you injuring down there or any other body parts. That’s why your bed is normally the safest spot.

And what about toys?

If you’re a masturbation newbie, it’s not the best idea to go for the biggest, fattest toy straight off the bat. Start off small and you can work your way up. And don’t forget about lube. It can make things a lot more comfortable for you. And remember to never try to “force” something all up in there because that will never feel comfortable.

And of course we cannot forget about sex toy alternatives. You’ve probably read about people using some interesting things to masturbate with, but those random things are more likely to cause irritation or possibly injury down below simply because they’re not made to be put up your vag.

Are all injuries permanent?

Thankfully most of them are NOT. If you’re feeling a bit tender down there, it will probably go away in a few days. Same goes if you cut or bruise yourself. Just note that it’s important to keep the area clean and allow it to breathe (cotton underwear, people) so it can heal properly.

If you notice that something has changed, or down there doesn’t seem to be healing properly, then you will want to visit your doctor or gynecologist. He/she will ensure there isn’t an infection, which is important because that could lead to more long-lasting results.

Can I undo any damage?

Nope. Time machines haven’t been invented yet so you can’t. However, like I said, if you have “ruined” your vagina by being a bit too aggressive during your masturbation session, the effects are usually just temporary. Your vag should be back to its old self in a few days.
