8 Ways To Make Fingering More Comfortable For You

Fingering is supposed to be for our own enjoyment, but sometimes it can feel like that finger is anything but enjoyable. Sometimes it can feel about as pleasurable as a gynecology exam. That’s not to say that bae has no idea what he/she’s doing down there. That could be far from the truth. And finding fingering to be uncomfortable doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with you, either. As with the vast majority of sexual acts, nerves can be a big factor in how pleasurable you find something. And when you’re nervous, it can make fingering less than pleasurable. (Read: Downright painful.)

If you’ve been finding your fingering sessions to be less than comfortable, there are some easy things you can do to make them better. That way you’ll hopefully be able to enjoy the pleasurable experience that fingering is meant to be. Take a look at eight ways that you can make fingering more comfortable for you.

Use All The Lube

Lube can make vaginal penetration better and it can also make fingering much more comfortable. If you find the idea of putting lube on a finger and/or condom weird, look beyond it and give it a try. You will soon realize just how good fingering feels when lube is involved.

Try Other Foreplay

Fingering might focus on the vag, but sometimes it's actually better if you focus on doing other stuff that isn't related to your vag before you start fingering. Try other hot foreplay acts such as boob stuff, kissing, or even just getting to know other parts of bae's body. When it comes time to fingering, you'll hopefully be *ready* to go.

Make Sure That Bae's Fingernails Are Cut

I'm wincing just at the thought of long fingernails being inserted up there. Ouch. Fingers can be difficult enough to put into a vagina so you don't want long talons making things harder. Besides, long nails can lead to some damage down there. Remember, your vag is sensitive.  And don't forget about nail polish and nail jewels. You probably don't want nail polish all up in you, but you especially don't want scratchy sparkles, crystals, or diamantes.

Watch Out For Jewelry

You might remember the long fingernails thing, but don't forget about jewelry making things more uncomfortable for you, either. To keep things enjoyable, have bae ditch any rings. Ditto any arm candy. You might not think watches and bracelets will make much of a difference, but they could actually make things uncomfortable, depending on how deep bae goes.

Go Slow

Fingering is not a race. If you're used to masturbating at high speeds, you might be confused why the same fast pace during fingering doesn't feel as good. Chances are it's because you're nervous. And that's okay. Starting off slow makes it easier for bae to insert his/her fingers without it becoming painful. And once you get comfortable with that, you can always pick up the pace.

Think About Your Emotions

If you've tried fingering a few times and you still find it unbearably uncomfortable, think about whether you really want this. Do you actually like the thought of having bae finger you, or are you doing it for bae? Or are you doing it because you think it's what you're *supposed* to do? If you're having second thoughts, hold off. Remember: Fingering really is about you.

Try Masturbating First

A foreign finger plus a nervous vagina equals a less than comfortable fingering session. Therefore, masturbating on your own first can help you relax and get wet. Plus, bae will be seriously turned on watching you do it. Win, win.

Speak Up If It Hurts

The key thing to remember is that if you're finding fingering, or any sort of sexual act, painful or uncomfortable, you need to speak up. Don't keep quiet because you're worried about offending your SO. That will not help anything. And bae should never feel insulted if you say that you're uncomfortable. If he/she does get annoyed, you will need to consider whether it's worth having someone like that in your life.
