34 Genius New Spring Makeup Products That Are Actually Worth Buying

It seems like a new makeup product is released every single day – just in the last week, we saw big launches for Kylie Cosmetics (featuring Kim Kardashian West), Becca Cosmetics (featuring Chrissy Teigen), and got a hint that something big is going to be happening with Glossier. This is really exciting for anyone who is beauty obsessed enough to spend a good portion of their money at Sephora, or few beauty bloggers and vloggers like myself, who typically get gifted with this stuff and have more opportunity to try it out. But for anyone who is on a beauty budget? It can be overwhelming and kind of upsetting. After all, no one can possibly buy everything!

So, at that point, you look at product reviews with this question in mind: which new makeup is actually worth spending your money on? You want something that works, is long-lasting, versatile, and of course fun. You probably also want something that is aesthetically pleasing and made to show off on Instagram, but obviously, the most important thing about it is whether or not it works. Products have different results for everyone, but I find that firsthand reviews are always the most helpful! That’s why, from now on, I’ll be doing regular features on which new products are worth your money and time – at least, I hope they will be! Nothing is a guarantee, but hey, it’s better to read an honest review than nothing at all.

To start, check out these new makeup products for spring that are worth buying. Most of these just recently came out, while others have been around for a few weeks now. But they’re all relatively new and exciting, and they are all inching their way to my favorites list. See why for yourself:

1. Coola Rōsilliance™ Organic BB Cream

If you’re looking for light, natural-looking coverage, then Coola’s BB cream is for you. The product isn’t new – it’s actually been around for a while – but it’s ideal for warmer weather when we all typically start wearing less makeup. This BB cream is hydrating and delivers a light tint of color, so don’t expect anything like a heavy foundation. It also has SPF 30, which is great for the sunnier days coming up.

2. Stila Aqua Glow Protecting Bronzer & Mini Wonder Brush Set

This new Stila kit includes a liquid bronzer with a mini brush to use to apply it. Liquid bronzer sounds intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. This one is great for a slightly more luminous glow, and it can tend to look more natural as it blends into skin a little better.

3. Marc Jacobs Velvet Reality

Get your hands on this Velvet Reality kit from Marc Jacobs Beauty quickly, because it’s limited edition and won’t be around forever – it’s currently sold out at Sephora. The makeup bag alone is special, decorated in graphic illustrations by artist Julie Verhoeven. The kit itself includes an eye stick eyeshadow, a waterproof Highliner Gel Eye Crayon, and Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. The eyeshadow is a creamy, light purple shade that is really, really gorgeous, and I love the gel eye liners from Marc Jacobs – they go on like a dream. The mascara is also great. It made my lashes look super long with only one stroke. For $50, this is a great value.

4. Lorac Pirates of the Caribbean Eye Shadow Palette

This is another limited-edition set that should be purchased sooner rather than later. It’s, obviously, Lorac’s collaboration with Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean, and guys, it’s gorgeous. The shades are vibrant and colorful, although there are plenty of neutrals as well, meaning you can do virtually any kind of eye makeup look with this. Lorac eye shadows are my favorites for their incredible pigmented shades and super long-lasting wear. Plus, the packaging here is great.

5. Benefit Hoola Lite Bronzer

Benefit Cosmetic’s Hoola bronzer has been a cult favorite for a really, really long time for a reason – it delivers a natural looking bronze glow that lasts. Well, a few weeks ago, they finally came out with a Hoola Lite – a lighter version of the fan fave, perfect for girls who are on the lighter side. Hoola itself can run dark – I’m not pale and even I have trouble with it in the winter – so the Lite is much appreciated. I’ve been using it obsessively. It’s just as good as Hoola, just lighter and more natural for anyone with paler skin.

6. Laura Geller Island Escape Eyeshadow Palette

This new eyeshadow palette from Laura Geller is perfect for warmer weather. It’s stocked with shimmery bright shades to create any kind of colorful look you might want, but you can also accomplish some neutral looks here as well. I love the shades – Deep Iris is my favorite – and I also love the tropical, palm leaf covered packaging.

7. Laura Mercier Lacquer Lip Acrylick Lip Varnish

These new high-shine lip colors from Laura Mercier are also a limited edition collection, so grab ’em while you can. Although they aren’t lip gloss, they do deliver enough shine to pass for gloss sometimes, so if you want to try that look without actually wearing gloss, this is your best bet. The lip varnish feels comfortable and not sticky, and the color packs a punch – most of the shades are super bright. My personal favorite is Soleil, which is a bright peachy shade that would make anyone smile.

8. Glossier Cloud Paint

Okay, yes, I am a Glossier stan, but that’s only because the stuff works. Cloud Paint is Glossier’s latest achievement – it’s a cream blush that comes in the signature millennial pink packaging. I got Cloud Paint in Beam, which is a peachy coral shade that is perfect for the days I want something different than just pink. I love Cloud Paint. It’s so pigmented that it comes off as intimidating, but it blends really well, so it’s easy to fix if you applied too much. It’s so pigmented, actually, that you only need a tiny dot of it to get the job done.

9. Makeup Drop Silicone Makeup Applicator

By this point, you have probably heard about how silicone makeup applicators are taking the top spot Beautyblenders have been keeping to themselves for the last few years. Silicone applicators are said to apply makeup more smoothly without soaking up as much product as sponges do. They are also easier to clean and, honestly, they feel really cool. I like mine a lot, and highly recommend it!

10. Jordana Glow n Go Creamy Strobing Stick

This creamy highlighting stick reminds me of Glossier’s Haloscope – just at less than half the price. It swipes on easily to create a natural looking highlight that also looks and feels moisturizing. It’s great to use for strobing, or to use with contouring makeup to create a more sculpted look.

11. Smith & Cult The Shining Lip Lacquer

Lip gloss is officially back, and this lip lacquer from Smith & Cult is your best way to get involved. I love Smith & Cult’s lip products because they always feel amazing and deliver seriously great color – and the packaging doesn’t hurt. I love this gloss in the shade One Word Chorus, which is a shimmery peachy pink that could almost pass as more of a neutral.

12. Flirt Cosmetics Dot Dot Dot Dual Eyeliner

Graphic eyeliner was all over the runways for spring, and if you’re brave, you might want to try it out. Enter Flirt Cosmetics’ Dot Dot Dot liquid eyeliner. One end is a basic marker tip for liquid liner, while the other end acts as a dotting tool. I love the marker tip, as it applies easily and delivers a great super black shade.

13. Marc Jacobs Enamored With A Twist

This Marc Jacobs set is another limited edition kit in collaboration with artist Julie Verhoeven. Again, the makeup bag is killer, but this one includes a lip set instead of an eye makeup kit. It includes three Enamored Hi-Shine Gloss Lip Lacquers, one in peach shimmer, one in pink shimmer, and one in lavender. Even if you’re picky about gloss, you’ll love these – they feel nice and have a beautiful shimmery shade.

14. Benefit Galifornia Blush

I immediately fell in love with Benefit’s new blush because of the packaging. The front features a girl’s face with amazing hair and huge sunglasses, and the powder is in the shape of an intricate sun – so pretty I almost didn’t want to use it. But this mix of gold and pink delivers such a gorgeous hue that I had to compromise the design a bit. This blush is just as good as every other cult favorite blush Benefit puts out, if not better.

15. Milani Make It Dewy Setting Spray

The dewy, luminous look is huge right now because it’s more natural and glowing than anything matte. The only problem is that many setting sprays and powders leave a matte finish. Milani’s setting spray, though, is made for that dewy look. I love setting spray because I find powders make my skin look oily and weird, and I really love this one. It works great and it leaves a glow behind.

16. Laura Geller Lashboss Major Length, Volume, Curl Mascara

If you’re looking for a new mascara, this option from Laura Geller does it all: it creates length, volume, and it curls at the same time. I love the super full spooly brush as well as the way it makes my lashes look super full and long.

Buy this for $24 at Laura Geller

17. Sephora Collection PRO Essentials Brush Set

This amount of money might seem like a lot, but if you’re serious about your brushes, then you need this set. It includes 11 Pro brushes that are Sephora best sellers, all in a handy travel case.

18. Milani Stay Put Matte 17HR Wear Liquid Liner

If you want to have fun with your eye makeup this season, play around with Milani’s liquid liners. I love the shade Midnight Matte, which is a deep blue. The colors are fun, it lasts forever, and it goes on easily. You can’t go wrong!

19. Mally Beauty H3 Lipstick

If you hate how dry lipstick can make your pout feel, then you definitely want to try this new Mally Beauty lipstick. It’s gel-based rather than wax based, which means it gives a lot more hydration. My favorite thing about it is the tip – it’s more pointed at the top, which makes it so easy to use in the corners of your mouth.

20. Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color

If you’re still all about the matte liquid lipstick, then try Jordana’s Sweet Cream colors. Made with Vitamin A, this liquid lipstick isn’t as drying as a lot of others out there, but it’s still long-lasting. And honestly, you can’t beat that super low price.

21. Coola Mineral Liplux SPF 30

One of the worst things about extra sun is the possibility of sunburn, which can happen to even your lips. Sunburnt lips feel dry and chapped, and it’s the worst, which is why I stock up on lip balms with SPF like crazy. Nothing lower than 30 SPF works for me, so I really love Coola’s Liplux balm. It has a nice tint – my favorite shade is Summer Crush – and it’s super moisturizing and protecting.

22. Laura Mercier J’adore Le Soleil Matte Veil Creme

This cream bronzer is incredibly easy to apply and blend, leaving behind a natural glow that makes it seem like you spent a day at the beach. Laura Mercier is one of my favorite beauty brands, and this bronzer is a good example of a reason why.

23. Milani Prime Correct Face Primer

A good primer is so important in warmer weather, since your makeup is more likely to slide right off. I love this Milani primer. Its main focus is to reduce redness, hence the green shade. Don’t be freaked out by the color – it blends in quickly and easily, masking any redness and leaving a smooth matte finish. It doesn’t feel oily, either. I love using it after the gym!

24. Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Cream To Powder Quickie Contour Stick

Benefit really worked on expanding the Hoola range this season, and it was worth it. This Hoola contour stick is great for those who just want a light contouring without putting in all of the work. It goes on as a cream to powder in a convenient stick (in adorable packaging), and it looks natural and glowy.

25. Milani Contour and Highlight Cream and Liquid Duo

Speaking of easy highlighting, you really can’t get much more simple than this Milani contour and highlight duo. One end is a creamy contour cream that is super easy to swipe on, while the other side is a liquid illuminator in shades that compliment each other. The illuminators are beautiful and everything blends well. It’s a great traveling stick.

26.  glo Minerals First Blush Living Color Collection

If you want to keep things easy this season, consider this kit from glo Minerals. It includes a blush, eyeshadow quad palette, eyeshadow stick, and a gloss. Everything is a beautiful shade of pink that is perfect for spring and summer. Glo Minerals actually makes my favorite eyeshadow stick ever – it’s so creamy and pigmented – so I love this for that alone.

27. Lorac Pirates Of The Caribbean Lip Duo

Another essential part of the Lorac Pirates Of The Caribbean set is the Lip Duo. One end is lip gloss, the other is moderate coverage lipstick, in complimenting shades. I like Risk It All the best, which is a coral pink, but there are options! You can layer these if you’d like, or just wear one – either way, it’s a great deal.

28. Coola Daydream Mineral Primer

I really, really love Coola’s new primer, which is saying a lot, because I am very picky about primers. This one goes on easily and feels hydrating without being heavy at all, or making my skin look oily. It actually leaves a nice matte, smooth finish, and feels so silky. On top of that, it has an SPF of 30, which makes it even better.

29. Dr. Jart+ Micro Makeup Remover Pads

Okay, so this isn’t exactly makeup, but it works with makeup, so it kind of counts. Dr. Jart makes these great makeup removing pads that swipe away your makeup easily and aren’t bad for your skin. They’re ideal for travel.

30. St. Tropez 3-in-1 Bronzing Powder

St. Tropez is known for being the best in the business when it comes to self-tanners, so I was super excited to see that they launched a bronzing powder this month. This sleek compact holds complimentary bronzing and highlighting shades that can be swirled together to create a luminous glow. Just don’t use a lot unless you have darker skin – it’s pretty pigmented.

31. Bath & Body Works At The Beach Air Brush Bronzer

It doesn’t get much cuter than the packaging for this air brush bronzer from Bath & Body Works. This sprays on for easy application and delivers a natural looking tan wherever you need it.

Buy this for $15.50 at Bath & Body Works

32. Laura Geller Shine Stick Triple Benefit Lip Color

This new Laura Geller lip color is made up of three formulas: lipstick, lip gloss, and lip balm. It feels nice without being too sticky, and delivers a shiny lip color that is great for this season.

Buy this for $21 at Ulta

33. Sephora Clean Up Nice Antibacterial Spray

Again, not makeup, but it has to do with makeup, so it counts. This Sephora antibacterial spray is more important than you think – one spritz helps to disinfect makeup products and brushes. This is great to have on hand if you share makeup, but it’s great in general. Our makeup can be full of bacteria without us even realizing it!

34. Kat Von D Everlasting Lipliner

Kat Von D just released a huge line of lipliner shades, and the range of colors is incredible – there is something for every color out there, it seems. Like her Everlasting liquid lipstick, these last for a long time and deliver a great color.
