If you have ever been on Pinterest before, you will know that, on this site, there is no shortage of DIY remedies for…something. Or, to be specific, remedies for lots of things. Makeup mistakes. Messy rooms. Fashion problems. And, of course, remedies for acne. At this point, if you are a seasoned Pinterest user you will probably also know that it is necessary to have a skeptical eye when looking at most of these so-called remedies, particularly the ones you put on your face–there are many alleged acne “cures” that one might find on Pinterest that anyone of sound mind would be able to tell you will not cure your acne and, in fact, will most likely make it even worst. This, for example, is probably the most terrifying thing I have ever seen in my young life:

Still, there are some acne hacks and remedies on Pinterest that are more or less legit–the key is knowing how to determine which things you should put on your face, and which things you definitely should not put on your face. So, check out these weird acne remedies from Pinterest that you should actually try:

1. Aloe vera is a great treatment for acne, since it reduces redness and inflammation without drying out the skin:

2. Baking soda is another great thing to use, either as a spot cream or scrub. Just make sure you’re not using it too often–it dries out pimples well, but can also irritate your skin:
