Have you been feeling weird about your relationship lately? Maybe you and your bae haven’t been having as much fun as you normally do, or maybe you keep getting into fights or disagreements. I mean, it happens to all of us at some point. Maybe you’re just having an off week, or you and your bae haven’t been communicating that well. It can suck, but it’s actually possible that these feelings or weird relationship vibes aren’t your fault or in your control. What do I mean? Let me explain. There might be things affecting your relationship that you have little-to-no control over. And that can feel pretty awful.
I’m not going to tell you that every issue in your relationship can be blamed on something else, but it is important to know about all of the external factors that are could be giving you and bae weird vibes. You never know! Sometimes you can blame is on the stars (seriously). So, if you’ve been feeling a little weird about your bae, check out these weird and random things that you didn’t know could affect your relationship.
The PlanetsNot to be dramatic, but outerspace can affect your relationship, particularly right at this moment, since Venus is in retrograde until the middle of April. What does that mean? To some people, it means nothing. But to you, me, and the rest of the intellectuals, it means that you could be second-guessing your relationships. So, you might want to keep an eye on the stars when you are trying to get into a relationship. Image Source: iStock
Your Birth ControlSo, we all know that the pill can mess up your hormones a little, right? Well, it can actually alter who you are attracted to, as well. It can change your sex drive and who you actually want to have sex with, which might make you less attracted to bae. If you aren't on the pill, you actually might be more attracted to super masculine people, while if you are on the pill, you might be attracted to the opposite. That doesn't mean that going off the pill will make you less hate your bae, but it IS possible, just warning you. Image Source: iStock
Being An Only ChildWeirdly enough, your lack of siblings can actually affect the way you act in relationships. If you don't have any siblings, odds are good that you don't have great communication and problem solving skills, which means that you are actually more likely to break up with your bae. SORRY. Your PhonePSA: your phone might be ruining your relationship. I'm sorry. If you are always on your phone, your bae might actually get jealous or upset. On the other hand, people who are so dependant on their phones might feel less secure in their IRL relationships. I'm not saying you need to throw away your phone, but you might want to be more aware of how much you use it around your bae and why. Image Source: iStock
Your PetsYour dog might be trying to break you and your bae up. I WISH I was kidding...but there is proof. Supposedly, men are less likely to date girls if they have a pet. I'm sure if you have a family dog it's fine, but if it's just you living on your own with a dog, it might be a turnoff for some people. IF you want my advice, I say keep the dog and dump the BF, TBH. But you do you. Image Source: iStock
Your Relationship With Bae's ParentsAre you super close with your BF's mom? That might not be a good thing! Studies have shown that couples have a higher chance breaking up if the woman is really tight with her bae's parents. So...you might want to get to know your bae a little more before you become BFFs with their mom, okay? At least in the beginning. Image Source: iStock
How You Feel About Your SizeSo, there is no rule that says that you need to weigh less or be shorter than your partner. But, according to a study, women are happier in relationships when they have a smaller BMI (body mass index) than their partner. When you think about it, feeling confident with yourself can make you feel more confident in your relationship and help you and your bae last longer. I am NOT saying you need to lose weight to be happy, because that's not true. It is important for you to be comfortable and happy with the person you're with AND yourself, though.
