At this point, I think it’s clear that the Harry Potter franchise isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Between the book and movie spinoffs, plays, makeup products, and J.K. Rowling‘s insistence upon disseminating new, socially-relevant information about each and every character and event in the series via social media whenever she’s feeling bored (Dumbledore is gay! Harry and Hermione should have gotten together! The Whomping Willow secretly had a crush on Sirius Black! J.K. Rowling hasn’t said one of these things, but she probably will soon enough!), it’s pretty safe to say that Harry Potter will be around for at least a few more years.
This is fine, by the way, since most people seem similarly unwilling to let anything related to Harry Potter go. People buy tickets for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, and the fancy Slytherin-themed makeup brushes, and they engage with every new piece of information J.K. Rowling chooses to reveal. And, of course, many people on the internet are still dissecting and discussing some of the saddest, most tragic moments from the series–which, if you are familiar, you’ll know there are a lot of. So, check out these heartbreaking Harry Potter posts that may or may not ruin your entire day. In a good way, obviously:
