13 Easy Ways To Save Your Money In 2017

Not to sound too much like your parents, but saving money is actually really important. I know that as soon as your get your allowance or paycheck, you’re immediately tempted to spend it on something frivolous, whether it’s a new lipstick from Sephora, the book you’ve been waiting to read, or tickets to see your favorite band in concert. And while all of that does sound fun, it’s not practical to spend all of your money at once. I know it’s boring, but learning how to save money before you’re responsible for tons of bills is a skill that you really need. And since it’s the start of the new year, I think that this is the perfect time to give you all tips on how to save your money in 2017.

I’m not saying you can’t spend a single cent this year, but there are actually some super simple but efficient ways to save your money. I know that I want to stop wasting all of my money on things I don’t really need in 2017, so I went digging around my favorite place (the internet, of course) and actually found some super helpful tips for saving some money. I’ll let you in on the secret: save a little bit at a time, and you will be set for the rest of the year. Not sure how to do that? Take a look at these helpful guides for saving all of your hard-earned money:

1. Take some money out of your check/ allowance every two weeks, and save it with this easy guide.

2. Or put away a few dollars every day.

3. Find things to do that won’t cost you any money.

4. Try the cash envelope system: every time you get paid, put aside a little money for certain things you need. It could be just three or five dollars, but it will add up quickly so that when you need to get one of these things, you already have the cash.

5. Or try a new money-saving challenge every month.

6. Start small with a penny challenge. Saving your pennies sounds dumb, but it’s easy and really adds up.

7. Make a budget binder. You probably don’t have any bills to pay, but if you are seeing how much you’re spending in a month, odds are you will try and cut it down and save more!

8. Buy things when they will be on sale. Obviously, you don’t need to buy patio furniture, but it’s good to know the season to buy things so that you can get them when they are cheap, like buying winter clothes in February!

9. Use your bullet journal to help budget your money.

10. Or create a “coin jar” in your bullet journal to help you visualize your savings.
