19 Of The Worst Things That Happened On Social Media In 2016

At this point in your life, chances are good that you have carved out an identity on at least one–but most likely more–social media site. You’ve probably got Facebook (for your parents), Instagram (to present a carefully-curated illusion of your otherwise imperfect life), Twitter (for spewing out a stream-of-consciousness narrative at all times), plus a smattering of other things like Snapchat and Tumblr. And, given that you spend a certain amount of time on each of these platforms every day, you also know that you’re not going to like everything you see there.

Facebook often tends to be the worst offender, due to its wide user base and lack of character and word constraints. Still, every main platform of social media had some unspeakable things occur on them during this year–which, of course, I assume you would just love to see. After all, what is an end of year review without airing the mistakes of strangers you don’t actually know? So, in no particular order, check out the worst things that happened on social media in 2016:
