13 Things You Should Never Have To Do In A Relationship

Here’s the thing: It is okay to be a little extra when you are in a relationship. (To clarify: It is okay to be a little extra all the time, if it so pleases you.) But it’s something that’s especially hard to resist if you like someone, and they like you back, which, in turn, often leads to doing what most people would call “the most”–posting mushy Facebook statuses, back-to-back brunch selfies on Instagram, lots and lots of dumb, doting tweets. Is this annoying? Sure, to some, but it’s not, like, offensive.

It’s just that there should never be just one person who is always doing the most in a relationship, while the other party just kind of, like, sits there and lets them do the most to them. And that is too often the case! Or, at least, that’s the way it seems on the relationship goals-specific sections of Pinterest, Instagram, and Tumblr. So, in case you’re not sure what’s cool and what’s not when you’re dating someone, check out these things that no one should ever have to do in a relationship:

1. Deal with overly jealous texts like this:

11. Decide that only men should be able to cheat because life is “hard enough” for them:

12. Feel compelled to give your man Gucci slides (????) to prevent him from cheating on you, either:

13. And take pictures to commemorate your anniversary. Every month:
