12 Easy DIY Halloween Costumes For Girls With Short Hair

It’s fun to go all out for Halloween, but why create unnecessary work for yourself? If you can create a Halloween costume idea based off of what you already have, you should take full advantage of it. I mean, you have about 10,000 other things to do before October 31, so why not cut a few corners where you can?

Think about all of the things you already own or what you actually look like when you’re coming up with your Halloween costume. If you’re a short-haired girl, that can actually be a great starting point for a costume. You might think that girls with Rapunzel-long hair have all of the creativity and fun for Halloween, but you do too. Just think about all of the iconic short hairdos from TV, movies, and life in general.

I don’t know about you, but I have never found a comfortable Halloween wig. They’re hot, they itch, and they make your scalp sweat in a way that you didn’t think was possible. Why would you want to even consider wearing one of those when you can make good use of your short hair in a costume? Get inspired by these 12 easy DIY Halloween costume for girls with short hair.

Game of Thrones' Arya Stark

You have six different seasons to draw inspiration from for your Arya Stark costume. The good thing is, Arya has short hair in most of them. *No spoilers here* Get the rest of your squad involved by having them dress up as other Game of Thrones characters. There are a lot to choose from.

Ace Ventura

Remember Jim Carey as Ace Ventura? Classic. You could do the Hawaiian button-down and the undershirt, or you could do this hilarious tutu look. If you want to incorporate some animals into your costume, be my guest. Ace is a pet detective, after all.

Stranger Things' Eleven

Yeah, so a Stranger Things costume is going to be one of the most popular ones for Halloween 2016. Does that mean you should skip it? No way. You've probably got a pink dress and a navy jacket, so get on making the costume. Remember some fake blood for your nose. And some Eggos.

You might have cut your hair after Twiggy, so why not complete the transformation on Halloween? Grab some white tights and a shift dress with a retro print. Don't forget that your makeup is just as important as your outfit. Go for lots of lashes and a neutral lip.

When your locks are cropped, you don't have to worry about tucking them into a faux bob. The only things you need to worry about are finding a cute drop-waist dress, a headband, and practicing your Charleston dance.

Harry Potter

Who doesn't want to dress up as Harry Potter as often as possible? Grab your Hogwarts robes, your wand, and your glasses. If you have a Nimbus 2000, grab that, too. Oh, and don't forget your lightning scar.

The Royal Tenenbaum's Margot Tenenbaum

Got an ear-length bob? A Margot Tenenbaum costume is for you. Flat iron your hair then pop a barrette in it. Finally, throw on a furry coat. If you want someone to be your Richie, you can get your SO involved, but note that you're still amazing without him.

Marilyn Monroe

There is a costume to suit every hair length. If you're rocking a bob, unleash your inner Marilyn Monroe with a white dress and some red lipstick. Just make sure to avoid the subway grates, mmmmkay?

Draco Malfoy

Feeling a bit naughty? Instead of your usual Harry Potter costume, be Draco Malfoy. You could go for the gelled back hair, or you could go for a piece-y style like she did. Just don't forget the Dark Mark on your arm.

Edie Sedgwick

Love a throwback look? Be Edie Sedgwick. You can create the costume with clothes you already have in your wardrobe. Finish things off with statement eye makeup. Then ask bae if he will be your Andy Warhol.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus was THE Halloween costume of 2014, but there's no rule that says you cannot rock it now. You could go for the infamous Robin Thicke performance look, or you could try one of Miley's other looks. This one is more unexpected, but it still has Miley's signature pose.

Rosemary's Baby's Rosemary Woodhouse

Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby is one of the most iconic short hair cut looks. When you have the cropped hair, the only things you really need are a vintage dress and a spooky *fake* baby.
