13 Quirky Relationship Goals You Never Even Knew You Had

It should not come as a surprise that, in most cases, I find the entire concept of “relationship goals” to be odious and life purpose-zapping in almost every way. (I have only been complaining about them for about 7,000 years, after all.) But this is because relationship goals–at least the way they are commonly portrayed on the internet–are terrible. Most of the pictures don’t make sense, a lot of the goals they set forth are actually pretty abusive, and they are the number-one perpetrator of nonsensical “inspirational” quotes on the internet. One day, I will explain my theory as to how these relationship goals accounts paved the way for the encroaching menace that is “Hiddleswift,” AKA Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston, a relationship that has basically just been two very famous people cosplaying as a couple on a Relationship Goals Instagram account.

For the time being, though, I will admit that while I am immune to the “charms” of Hiddleswift, I am a real-life sucker for the relationship between, say, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. I have also been known to be moved by the odd relationship meme on Twitter or Tumblr. Why is this? I cannot say for sure. I just know that it is true. Most relationship goals are bad, but a select few are good. Anyway, check out these relationship goals that–in my opinion!–are actually cool, and you probably didn’t even know that you had:

1. Holding hands with bae:

2. Carrying bae’s snacks, but also letting them know that you have to power to withhold it at a moment’s notice:

3. Witnessing someone trying to roast you online for their own personal gain and roasting them back, but gently, for you are a man of the Lord:

4. Taking a pic of bae but managing to snap one of yourself at the same time:

5. Raising a family together:

6. Cuddling:

7. Only mentioning important things:

8. Wearing matching outfits >>>>>

9. Having the same priorities:

10. Defying the odds whenever you can:

11. Sharing similar interests in makeup:

12. This notebook:

13. And, uh, literally just this. Whatever it is:

What do you think of these relationship goals? Am I the actual biggest hypocrite in the world for supporting this kind and not the other? Let us know in the comments!
