How is finals week allowed?

No, really. This is a real question, since finals week–or exams week, revision week, hell week, whatever you want to call it–is, in my mind, something that should just be straight-up outlawed. Like, it’s one week out of the school year that basically renders the entire rest of the year useless, thanks to cumulative exams and research papers that can make or break your entire grade.

You’ll enter the week with lofty expectations, of course. This is going to be the year that you study a little bit every day instead of trying to cram an entire textbook’s worth of information into your head, you tell yourself, and this is going to be the year that you finish your research paper the day before you have to so you have enough time to edit properly instead of printing it off literal seconds before it’s actually due. In reality, however, some form of general insanity and/or hysteria is mostly inevitable.
