12 Weird Acne Cures You’ve Never Even Thought Of

You learn something new every day. For example, yesterday, I did not know that Justin Bieber was an adult coloring book enthusiast who also has a penchant for hentai art. Today, I know this to be true. Something else I learned today? Apparently, girls on Instagram are rubbing garlic all over their faces in order to get rid of acne. According to beauty vlogger Farah Dukai, this dries up zits practically overnight.

Sounds crazy, no? But here’s the kicker–this trick actually works. Seventeen asked a dermatologist about the trick, who said that while the exact effects of garlic and acne haven’t been studied, garlic contains allicin, which is a known anti-inflammatory. Since inflammation is a major issue with acne (think a big, swollen whitehead on your nose), reducing it is a great way to make your skin look better.

Rubbing garlic on your zit isn’t the only weird acne cure out there by a long shot. There are tons of random things that get rid of pimples and keep your skin clear. Interested? Check out instructions for the garlic trick below, as well as some other weird acne cures that you’ve never even thought of before:
