Finding your own amazingly perfect Halloween costume is awesome, but you know what’s even better? Finding an amazingly perfect costume idea for you and your best friend to do together. Having a buddy on Halloween just seems to make the whole holiday more fun – plus, it opens up so many options!
The only problem? There are a TON of cliche best friend costume ideas that literally everyone uses every year. To name a few, we have: Mario and Luigi, Buzz and Woody From Toy Story, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, Walter White and Jesse from Breaking Bad, Poo and Tigger, Thing 1 and Thing 2, Wayne and Garth from Wayne’s World, Cher and Dionne from Clueless, minions, and the creepy twins from The Shining. While these can be cute, they’re also pretty boring at this point because they’ve been done so many times. Don’t you want something creative that no one else will think of?
That’s where I come in. I’ve searched the internet to find the most unique BFF costumes I could possibly find. Pick one of these, and stop stressing over who will have the same costume as you, because no one will. Here are 18 DIY TV and movie character Halloween costumes for best friends:
Mia and Lilly from The Princess DiariesThis is BRILLIANT. I can't believe I've never thought of this or seen it before. Don some "school girl" clothes, make your hair frizzy, add glasses, and you've got a perfect throwback BFF costume that I bet no one else will even think of - but will totally freak out about when you tell them who you are. Source
Amanda and Alyssa from It Takes TwoHere's another amazing idea that I don't think I've ever seen or heard of before - Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's characters from It Takes Two! And then feel superior that your costume is not only better than everyone else's, but also the comfiest costume in the world. Source
Charlotte and Wilbur from Charlotte's WebHow cute is this? Dress up as everyone's favorite childhood best friends. For Charlotte, you'll have to get a little more creative - but it will definitely be worth it. Source

Ashburn and Mullins from The HeatIf you didn't see The Heat yet, starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, you need to. The Princess and The PeaIf you're going to go the childhood cartoon route, you might want to avoid a lot of Disney and Nickelodeon, as many of those are totally played out.
