Makeup is so much fun to play around with, and if you’re into beauty stuff, then you probably love doing so. I know that, for me, doing my makeup is the most relaxing part of my morning routine. That is, when I’m not feeling completely lazy and would rather shuffle off to work in my pajamas than actually attempt to look like a human.
We all have our lazy mornings, especially as school starts back up again and we’re forced to get up earlier. Sometimes this means that we have less time to do our makeup because we’ve woken up too late. If you’re feeling lazy and lacking on time, but still want to look put-together, no worries – it’s definitely not impossible. These 10 genius makeup tricks will save time and keep you looking fabulous. Of course, there’s always the option to skip on the makeup altogether, but if you’d rather not do that, then you need to check these out!
Use Bronzer Instead Of ContouringContouring looks great, but it can take up a lot of time, especially if you're not a pro. If you want the look of contouring but you don't have time to do it, just strategically use bronzer. Swipe it over your temples, along the sides of your face, and right under your cheekbones. Line and Curl At OnceIf you curl your lashes, you can use the lash curler to apply your eyeliner the same time you curl your lashes. Apply eye liner to the curler, then press onto your eyes. Voila!
Smudge Your Eyeliner Instead Of Applying Eye ShadowIf you don't have time to do your entire eye routine but you don't want to leave it bare, apply a decent amount of brown eye liner. Once it's on, smudge upwards in a wing shape. It won't look exactly like eyeliner, but it will do the trick. Source: iStock
Opt For Tinted Moisturizer Instead Of FoundationApplying foundation, then concealer, then powder can take up a lot of time. Instead, make things faster and use a tinted moisturizer. Laura Mercier makes an excellent one that covers things up and gives you a little bit of color. It also feels really nice. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, $44, Sephora
Only Use MascaraMascara is a great beauty product that can really make a difference - and you don't even need to add anything else. Whenever I'm running late, I apply mascara and nothing else. Mascara makes enough of a statement for this to work. Source: iStock
Use A Multi-Tasking ProductI love stocking up on multi-tasking products because they save time and they're great for travel. Tarte makes this amazing cheek stain that can be used as more than just blush. You can use it as blush to wake up your whole face, lip stain, and even smudge a little on your eyes as a shadow. I love the shade Blushing Bride, which is bright while also being subtle. Tarte Cheek Stain, $30, Sephora
Use Clear Mascara, Brow Gel or Lip Balm On Your BrowsDoing your brows can definitely be time-consuming. When you're running late, you can't always make them look completely perfect. By just applying a clear mascara or brow gel, you can define your brows and keep them looking tidy instead of messy. The clear gel is imperative here because it means you really can't mess up. If you don't have either of those things, you can use a little lip balm. Source: iStock
Apply Bright Lipstick To Distract From Everything ElseBright lipstick makes a statement and can distract from the fact that you have no other makeup on. Just apply a bright red color (or whatever color you'd like), and you'll look instantly put together. Source: iStock
Use HighlighterHighlighter wakes up your look and is great to use when you're not using that much makeup, because it is illuminating. Apply highlighter to your cheek bones, on your nose, and on your chin. It brightens up your whole look. Flower Glisten Up Highlighter Chuby, $9.95, Walmart
