You guys, it’s confession time. I’m a reforming shopping addict. I know, I know. You are all probably judging me a little. But let me explain my situation.
Since high school, I have been obsessed with buying lots and lots of clothes. My college dorm room was busting at the seams with my favorite fashion pieces. And my current apartment has clothes EVERYWHERE from my shopping addict days.
But over the last year, a lot has changed in my life, causing me to reevaluate my ways. And when I say that, I mean I have very little money to spend on anything but the absolute necessities. Let’s be real. I am trying to make it as an entry-level writer in one of the most expensive cities in the U.S. Woof!
I’ve now ended up on the other extreme of shopping addiction: I’m no longer taking care of myself when it comes to clothing. For example, the boots I am currently wearing are the only boots I own. They are definitely not built for snowy NYC days. And, to top it all off, the hole-filled soles are patched with duct tape because I am reluctant to spend money on a new pair. The struggle. It’s real.
My situation got me thinking about shopping addiction. And I wanted to help you all figure out if there is an error in your shopping ways. So, this week, we are putting your shopping habits to the test! Take this quiz to find out if you are too addicted to shopping (like I was!).
Meanwhile, I’ll be over here trying to figure out a happy medium. I think I’ll call it “shopping self-care”…
What were your results? How do you try to keep your shopping addiction at bay? Tell me all about it in the comments below!
