The holiday season is upon us. With just one week until one of my favorite days, I am floating on cloud nine. I mean, Thanksgiving is a holiday where the U.S. shows how thankful we are to the Native Americans for stealing their land and making it our own, right? While that’s not really what may family talks about, but there is a slight downfall to this holiday (and I’m not talking about missing out on my grandma’s famous pumpkin pie). It’s the question I dread every year: “Are you bringing anyone special with you?”
Why this question upsets me so much I’ll never know. But the answer is always the same: “No, it’s just me this year.” Then their faces dim a little and I get, “Well, maybe next year.” I’m not sure why it is such a big deal that I bring someone to meet my family! To add a little amusement to my pain, I thought it would be fun to imagine the different people I could bring to meet my family. It’s time to play a holiday round of who would you rather bring home for Thanksgiving?
Would you ever actually bring any of these people to meet your family? Do you have any funny stories about bringing a special person home? Let us know in the comments below!
