I talk a lot about my anxiety because when I was younger, I had no idea that I even had it. For years, I thought freaking out over things was normal. Being a worrywart was part of my charm. In reality, anxiety was ruling my life by making my brain constantly create what-if scenarios. Anxiety added stress to my life without me even knowing it.

Until this past year, managing my anxiety was something I didn’t know I had to do. I definitely didn’t know how to do it. Not only did I have to learn how to manage my anxiety, I had to learn how to cope with having a mental illness. One of the most important (although most difficult) things I learned about my anxiety is that it’s not going away. It’s something that I have to deal with for life, but it can be dealt with.
