Y’all know I’ve been working on growing my hair to Rapunzel-like lengths for quite some time. My hair was annoying me so much that I got extensions put in over the summer! Now it’s finally to a length that I’m really happy with, but I didn’t get there by myself. I wish I could say otherwise, but I had a lot of help along the way from hair growth products. I don’t think it’s cheating. I just accelerated the process!
Now, I know a lot of people are skeptical about hair growth products, and I get that. I used to be as well. Things like Mane ‘n Tail don’t really make your hair grow. They do make your hair strong though, which helps with the growth process because it reduces breakage. I’m not saying these products will make you wake up with hair like a Disney Princess, but you will notice a difference. You won’t get inches of growth, but you will get an accelerated growth along with longer nails and brighter skin. Check out my favorite products that will help you get longer hair:
Viviscal is like a hair super-product. I first took notice of this when a friend of mine cut her hair super short. Within a month it looked like her hair had already grown two inches! She told me she'd been using Viviscal. I recently started taking this, and y'all, my hair is growing like a weed. I got three inches cut off two months ago, and my hair is already longer than it was before I cut it. It definitely works, but you should of course check with your doctor before taking ANY kind of supplement.
I've been taking Biotin since I can remember so I don't particularly notice a lot of growth from it. But I do notice when I don't take it, my hair feels weak and looks dull. I notice the biggest difference in my nails, which grow SO fast and get really tough when I'm regularly taking Biotin. Biotin enhances the proteins that make up your hair. That makes your hair really strong, which helps it grow.
Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies
If you already take Biotin, be careful if you get a gummie that has Biotin in it. You don't want to take too much. These hair, skin and nail gummies are great for anyone who hates taking pills and wants an easy way to take in some hair growth vitamins.
Grow Gorgeous Growth Serum
I'm often skeptical of serums that claim they make your hair grow, but this stuff is no joke. Grow Gorgeous legit works, guys. I've been using it almost every day for about two months, which is the recommended time for each bottle. Not only has my hair growth wickedly fast, it's also gotten a lot thicker. Plus, Grow Gorgeous smells amazing and doesn't make your hair feel greasy.
Initialiste claims to boost hair growth and thickness in just a week, which I can definitely attest to. This serum packs a punch and will legit boost your hair. I used it for a week straight and noticed thicker, stronger, shinier hair. Now I just use it for maintenance when my hair feels dull.
Shea Moisture Strengthen, Growth & Restore Shampoo
I don't use shampoo anymore, but I always loved this Shea Moisture growth shampoo. Shampoo and conditioners alone don't make your hair grow, but using a growth shampoo will help stop your hair from breaking. That's one of the most important things when you're trying to gain length!
Not Your Mother's Way To Grow Conditioner
When you're trying to grow your hair out, you want a conditioner that's going to keep your hair strong. This super moisturizing conditioner from Not Your Mother's strengthens and promotes growth, all while giving you shiny hair.
Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment
If you're trying to grow your hair out, you need to be doing hair masks. A simple coconut oil mask will do wonders, but if you're not into oils in your hair, a mask like this is perfect. Do a mask at least once a week to keep hair hydrated and strong.
Biotin & Collagen Healing Oil
Biotin and collagen are great with promoting hair growth so this healing oil is perfect because it combines the two. I always use this in my hair when it's wet whether I'm drying it or letting it air dry, and it's fantastic.
Pantene Repair Light Detangler
Detangler will not make your hair grow, but when you have long hair you need to keep it tangle-free. Tangles lead to breakage, which means your hair is growing and breaking at a stready rate so it won't grow as fast as you want it to.
